Old content should be at a deep discount
You are making the game cost prohibitive if new players have to pay for foresaken, shadowkeep and beyond light even though all of those are old content by now. With the exception of the CURRENT SEASON, even beyond light should be half price and honestly foresaken and shadowkeep should be maybe $10. Players are showing up, seeing that they cannot play all of the content without shelling out $80 and are walking away. Just because you had to push back witch queen, does not mean it is ok to keep charging top shelf rates for expired material.

1 답변I got as far as reading this and gave up. "The impact of the DCV can be seen throughout Destiny 2, from very popular new activities such as Battlegrounds, that have persisted throughout Year 4, to innovations that have made the routine experiences of Destiny better for every player". Battlegrounds was boring as -blam!-. The year 4 experience has been so much better that I barely even play the game at all any more. From what I have experienced over the past year and what has been revealed for the future of D2 I have no reason to buy Witch Queen, the 30th anniversary rip off or any future seasons.

1 답변I really don’t get why people are arguing against this. The post is literally suggesting that bungie should follow every other marketing scheme. Apple or Samsung release a new phone? The previous models get cheaper. A new console releases? Old ones get cheaper. A new game launches in a franchise? Generally speaking, old ones are available for less. That’s how a vast majority of business models work, I don’t see how it’s a bad thing for D2. Hell, even if bungie just offered a pack for older expansions at a reduced price - i.e. $40 for Forsaken and Shadowkeep - that would be better than what we have now.

Ever since Shadowkeep, Bungie has been double-dipping on everyone. Making us pay for a barebones expac that becomes defunct after the first season and then making us pay again to get the rest of the expansion content under the guise of "seasons".

1 답변This is probably the game’s biggest problem. I feel like the gaming community as a whole would respect Destiny a lot more if they didn’t have to throw out 100+ dollars just to play what Destiny has to offer.

They use to. You use to be able to buy the game so far pretty much by just buying the latest dlc... veterans always flipped out about why new guy gets everything they paid for free. That said there's certain exotics I'm locked out of because I didn't buy that season and honestly have no idea how to fix that so idk

1 답변i could understand beyond light being half price when witch queen comes out, or maybe during the 3rd season of it but we're still in the beyond light era/year 4, so unless the vendor has a sale the dlc shouldn't be cheaper i also genuinely find it funny how you said "old content" then use beyond light as an example

You can also buy a bundle with Beyond Light, Shadowkeep, and Forsaken for $80, this essentially gives you Beyond Light for 25% off, even though it is still the current expansion in the game. Bungie has been pretty consistent in providing ways to get discounts to catch up to the current state of the game through their Legendary Edition bundles, this has been true in both Destiny 1 and Destiny 2. The game is free, but if you want more content, you need to pay for it, and it is currently at a discount. If you were thinking you should be able to buy forsaken for $5, you might have unrealistic expectations. Edit: I guess the joke's on me, Forsaken campaign will be free in December before getting Vaulted in February, RIP Cayde.
