GM Contest Modifier. Understand it.
Moany, winegy whine alert.
The Contest Modifier under Grandmaster Modifiers ensures you are -25 Power below that of the enemies. It caps you out at -25 under what ever the Recommended Power is for that Season. This Season (Lost) the recommended Power Level for the GM’s is 1370, so you’re capped at 1345. This is also the minimum level for entry into the activity. It means you will receive no extra advantage from being above 1345. Yet we have people on the Fireteam forum requesting 1350+

18 답변Really don’t get who that warrants your complaint. I missed almost three weeks including an iron banner at the start of the season for a work trip and I’m just under 1350 and will be by midway through this week. 1350 by this point in the season seems very reasonable ask. That aside requesting above the minimum for end game content is a simple way for trying to get serious players. It’s not like you couldn’t make your own post with your own lower standard. No offense by seeing as your upset about such a reasonable ask I would say they dodged a bullet and their post functioned as intended.

5 답변Most people at GM level do understand it. They're simply using it as an additional filter to hope they get more experienced players. Sure they could GM report / strike report etc, but its simply just another filter to use.

6 답변Some of the community aint the brightest when it comes to certain things. Ive tried to explain to some people that it doesn't matter if you are 1345 or 1400 when it comes to the GM..they still don't get it These people are the ones you ignore for GM's as they will die non stop as well

12 답변People are idiots. I get kicked out master fireteams because i use arcstrider. Anyone can look up my game history and see that most of the time i have double the amount of kills than my two teammembers combined. People just dont want to learn...

The funny thing is that the contest modifier makes light irrelevent in general. It could be straight up capped at 1125 and wouldn't be any different than it is now aside from more ease of access. No point in asking for light, but experience instead.

Because they don't pay any attention. GM been a thing since ShadowKeep via Season of the Worthy. They should know how Grandmaster works. If you're 1350 means nothing. You can be 1360 and still get one shotted because you're capped at 1345. Unless you play Gambit or Master Vault of Glass, that's [b]probably[/b] a different story. Other than that, there's no purpose and you receive no benefits especially when it comes to NF Ordeals. Another problem is that people don't pay attention to modifiers like this week GM. Many people died because they wasn't pay attention that when they killed Stalkers, they spawned mini-screebs that are capable of one-shotting anyone. When you killed Ravagers or Raiders, they spawned nothing.

Last seasons i had a guy telling me he was more tanky than me since he was 10 lvl above mine. I watched him getting one shotted by snipers non stop while i was surviving just thanks to anti sniper mods on my chest. Funny thing, one day i alo wanted to help a lfg team who needed a last to help them going trough navota's gm. They litteraly refused me because they wanted somebody with enough light to help them. I didnt even bothered telling them i had already completed this gm 30/40 times during the last 2 days XD

It a gm post it more about tactic then anything a 1350 can die as easy a 1345 i myself died quite a few time s last season i still have 2 gm left to do to get my tilte but a lfg requesting a higher power is not uncommon if it bother you set up your own team to run don t let other set your bar for enjoying the game it just a game have fun with it that why we all play isn't it.

3 답변Passed season it was 1335 so i did the Grandmasters, but with my own and former clan. No change of being kicked that way. Because they have a life and wil not always be there i want to use the App to, but after reading this post i am not so sure if i should. And yes i am also bothered how some people post requerements like "be good/bring mods/be 13.. etc etc. And yes 1345 is enough, wondering if 1343 would be enough to? Have to 2 go for the conquerer seal. And it would be great when Bungie would make a page where you can fill in your stats etc so it can match you with uhm equels, that would solve allot. People that want to carry can join them, so others can learn. And being kicked at the end is really a sh.tt.thing to do, just report him so that hopefully there are conseqeunces for his/her behaviour.

From reading the comments my understanding is that some people do it as an additional filter? My question for that is what makes it accurate? I refuse to pickup a bounty since hitting 1320 on a character because it literally does nothing for me. Some others do pick them up, even further some people afk farm in the thrallway. I suppose it might be a small filter but it still seems more beneficial to check weapon load outs or gm report etc.

Although i wouldnt ask for a lvl requirement, the purpose of asking for the higher ll is to find teammates that are hardcore players. 2-3 months from now players will ask for 1355-1360 because 1345 will be the “casual” level at that point.
