Savathun is a dangerous gaslighter.....not so much a liar. Which means that what comes out of her mouth is an unpredictable mixture of lies, half-truths, and maliciously weaponized truth. The only thing you can rely on with someone who is a gaslighter, is that whatever comes out of their mouth is designed to serve THEIR interests and THEIR agenda. Unburdened by a conscience or any sense of morality. [spoiler]What Savathun showed Crow, was probably a weaponized version of the truth. She showed Crow what his life as Uldren was like. But she did it with the goal of driving a WEDGE between Crow and Mara Sov. To deny her access to Crow...Uldren's knowledge...and Crow's power. But more importantly she did it to get inside Mara's head....get her riled up emotionally....and cloud her judgement in the contests of wits and scheming that the two are entangled in.[/spoiler] That's why someone like Savathun is so dangerous. If you start listening to them, they will draw you into a House of Mirrors where you'll lose any sense of what real or what's not. What's true and what's not. ...and when someone starts to destroy your "reality-testing" like that, they can put your very sanity at risk. Best way to "beat" someone like that? Don't play their game. If that is not an option, always remember that ANYTHING they are doing is calculated to be in their best interests, so you have to always be looking for that angle. Ignore what they say. Watch what they do, and try to figure out why they're doing it. Otherwise they will lead you off of a cliff. Or in Savathun's case. She'll sacrifice you the second you stop being useful to her.

Manipulative liars will mix lies with truth. Either by changing alight details or omitting facts / motives. This way the stuff you can easily verify checks out so you trust the rest. Example.
