That's me. I'm unskilled. I toughed it out last weekend because the loot was raining from skies (and still is), and I got the rolls I wanted. I said consistently to my clan that what was needed was Freelance mode. When they announced the changes this week I thought it sounded very smart, but I also predicted it would have the effect that it has; an effect that I realize benefits me greatly. Last weekend was miserable for me, but this weekend has been a great time. A really great time. I'm going to play some more today.
As I said though, I have the rolls I want, yet I'm still playing, because its fun, and I am improving. In fact, because the skill gap isn't as wide, I'm improving much more than last weekend (you don't learn calc unless you've had trig and algebra first). Nonetheless, if they remove the flawless queue, I'm out. I've got the loot, and last weekend was tortuous. And here's the thing the flawless folks need to realize. The reason more people went flawless is because the game was flooded with people like me. It wasn't because more skilled players showed up. It was that more unskilled players came to play, allowing people previously locked out to get to the Lighthouse. If we leave, and we will, then flawless queue or not the game will be back to season 14 and right quick. I don't pretend to know how to square this circle. You can't have last weekend without a monsoon of casuals, but if we leave, its right back to sweat-city, and we won't stick around just to be target practice for the skilled player base.
In any case, if anyone from Bungie is listening, I had a great time this week. I hope you keep this queue, or something like it. So do all the players who took constant beatings last weekend.

After slow-walking the TWAB until the end of the workday today, Bungie announced that they will be holding Flawless queue back until Sunday at reset. It's an attempt to split the difference, though I think it does favor the skilled player base as it gives them 2 late nights to play, as opposed to 1 for the casuals. We'll see how it works.

6 답변Glad you had a good time and that you'll keep coming back. I'm good enough to get flawless when there's a lot of players, but find it increasingly frustrating when the population shrinks. Also, I don't get why people are so upset about challenging games post-flawless. Once I'd reached the lighthouse and got my adept loot, I welcomed the new challenge. Like you say, people learn and improve through close games, not stompings. Keep playing guardian and hopefully you'll make it to the lighthouse someday! 👍🏻

Exactly dude, I'd be surprised if bungie backtrack on this to be honest, an extra 600,000 players in a mode that had stagnated and was dying? They ain't stupid, that's money in the bank, more players active, more chance of a visit to eververse or a purchase of witch queen etc. As a side note, I'm baffled by the logic that dudes who managed their first flawless in 4 years somehow blame the very players they beat for having a tougher experience after hahaha. So far this week I've seen new trials players refered to as 'zombies, -blam!-, no thumbs, blueberries, smooth brains and much more' Strange how these guys don't seem to mind the new additions when they can 5-0 them for 4 days like last weekend. To be honest overall I enjoyed trials but if they changed it back to the old system for the unhappy veterans would I care? No, I'll just go back to killing bots on the moon, but with a rapid hit/desperado messenger now.

18 답변Except trials is meant to be end game pvp for the hardcore pvp players to prove themselves…bungie keeps trying to cater to the bad players.

3 답변I get more personal satisfaction when it doesn’t feel so cheesy to go Flawless. I’m not suggesting that anyone who gets it did not 100% deserve it. But, doing a card on Sunday, we got Flawless first card and I’m pretty sure the only match we sweated at all was 7 (we won 5-4). We won the other 6 matches 5-2 or better in most cases. I don’t like facing solo players for the same reason, doesn’t feel like a real contest. I think the freelance playlist will help a lot in my despair of getting an easy flawless, but I’m concerned all these easy Flawless runs (which help lesser skilled players get there) will vanish because of the freelance pool.

2 답변Trials Report has some numbers out now. https://twitter.com/TrialsReport/status/1440368692689129472 Slightly more players went flawless at least once, but the total number of matches was reduced by 1/3. The total number of players who participated was also slightly down.

13 답변Is an END GAME pvp mode for unskilled players? Does that make sense in anyone's mind? Are master raids/GM Nightfalls for unskilled pve players? If not, then how come? People seem to think an END GAME pvp mode is for unskilled players.

2 답변Im not the greatest in the world but I can hold my own. Did a couple matches and got to three wins then matchmaking completely screwed me. Got matched with a full three stack. One had 200+ flawless with a 3+kd One had 200+ flawless with a 2+kd And the last had almost 700 flawless runs with nearly a 4.0 kd. That's shouldn't happen. I'm barely pushing above a 1.2kd for trials this season and have never been flawless. I had absolutely no chance at winning. The people on my team were of similar stats to me and have never been flawless. We didn't win a single round. Trials is supposed to be competitive, nothing about that is competitive. Its like having a child play LeBron James in a basketball game. Bungie is heading in the right direction with the recent changes, but matchmaking needs to be fine tuned severely. I guarantee these guys reset thier card before getting flawless just to farm.

4 답변Glad you got your participation trophy, thanks to the "unskilled players" this change negatively effects the "average players" while "skilled players" are unaffected by the change. And dont spout the typical "6 win reset" argument, because it shows you dont understand the pvp community. Those resetting at 6 are carrying people like you to their first flawless. Meanwhile, average players like myself you can claw out 3-4 flawless runs out over the weekend are now limited to 1 because we're able to compete against each other but not the skilled players

19 답변Another useful data point addressing an issue brought up here and elsewhere. This reading of the data suggests that ~2,000 players intentionally held themselves back from going flawless, or 1% of the total who went to the Lighthouse. https://twitter.com/TrialsReport/status/1440404333929975813

11 답변Glad to see you enjoyed your participation trophy… Now can Bungie please focus on making GMs and Master VoG a cake walk for players who can’t beat them. It’s absurd that Bungie expects people to put an ounce of effort into completing their end game content…

This is quite literally wrong, this statement of yours is literally just objectively wrong because these changes this week did nothing but hurt bad players and mid tier players. Flawless matchmaking pool does not affect stacked players and good players in the slightest these players are still going flawless 5-10 times a weekend regardless of the changes meanwhile bad players and mid tier players will get 1 flawless and get stomped for the rest of the weekend. This kills replay value completely unlike last week this literally make it like how trials was last season just because you went flawless once this goes against bungies philosophy of “rewarded for keeping a higher card” completely.

Im a seasonal 1.2 kd. After flawless its just like pre revamp trials.

13 답변I don’t get it… I had more fun last week than this week. I made it to 6 wins last week and it was a grind but this week on two characters I’m getting stomped every match. I played for 2 hours last night and managed 1 win?! I get it #getgud and practice but man it does get tiring getting stomped for a couple hours

Frankly I'm happy that the que works like this, stomping on newer players isn't fun to me. I want to up my game play, so I'll enjoy my flawless que, even as a solo player. You have alot of great ideas! I hope they incorporate them, we'd love to see you in PvP more often, maybe even the flawless que before long!
-
I'm a bad to average (at best) player with still 0 flawlesses and I couldn't win more than 2 matches all weekend, so my experience was totally opposite haha! Granted I didn't play a lot and probably had bad luck with matchmaking (lots of 3 stack shatterdives) but maybe I'll try a bit more in an hour after work.

I feel like once you go flawless on one character if you want to replay trials on that character you should go up against people in the flawless pool but if you switch to another character that hasn’t been flawless you can attempt going flawless on that said character but I don’t know I wish I could aid my friends getting flawless I’ve only been flawless once and thats this weekend it happened my last two games were super sweaty but somehow made a comeback and didn’t lose my mercy. I just play trials to try getting a reeds regret with vorpal because of pve meta I don’t want to miss out on good loot. Matchmaking can definitely be better but trials the loot its better I hope they can readd the exile gear again so it’s obtainable for players in trials because honestly not a fan of the gear right now.

1 답변I've stayed at 7 wins on a non flawless card. Can't see myself going flawless so this is the way I play it. Some decent rewards on wins I must say. Ascendant shards and all sorts. I actually think since the solo option came in I'm getting a bit better too. I'm playing it more so trying to improve and sharpen up. I'm no newcomer but I used to give trials a wide berth.

3 답변That's what I've been saying. I don't mind losing when the matches are balanced. Majority of matches last weekend were getting crushed 5-0. It's not worth playing at all. Someone said to me you still trials rep if you lose so it's not that bad. So by that logic, then they shouldn't have an issue with the flawless pool. You still get trials rep in the flawless pool. Once bungie figures out how to stop people resetting at 6 wins I'll happily play every weekend. I'll happy play in flawless pool and if I get crushed that's fine once I been flawless.
-
I’m an average player, I play for flawless, got it then haven’t stepped foot in the playlist again. I can’t help my friends who haven’t been flawless because we match the top 1% players. These changes have killed replayability.

1 답변작성자: BraddyBo 9/20/2021 10:13:03 PMBungie will most likely reverse the flawless mm after comparing the stats between this week and last week. 100k less players, less games (almost half), same flawless % but much lower % went flawless more than once.
