I hoping the final boss is some manifestation of the darkness, not like a remodel of a knight.
Like riven was a whole unique enemy.
Not like That stone vex was quite forgettable
Taniks was just funny to me.

He has his place in the story, but they’ve never capitalised on it. Variks solo narrates the Shadow Thief strike when Cayde should’ve been involved, he has a better history with Taniks. Then the SIVA reprise is non-canon And finally he’s given no build-up in the narrative of Beyond Light besides being depicted alongside Eramis and her crew in that one cutscene, only to spring up in the raid. It’s even more frustrating when the reason why he’s there is obvious. Taniks had a degree of respect for Eramis, but more importantly he was known for something he did better than all other Eliksni. He was a Guardian-Killer. Makes absolute sense that if Eramis was facing a Guardian threat she’d seek to bring back an ace in the hole. Had he been armed with Stasis, perhaps we would’ve met our match. Unfortunately for her, we cut the feet out from under her Empire before we even made it to the Deep Stone Crypt and just missed our chance to kill Taniks in his sleep. Would’ve liked for Bungie to actually include a mission on the Moon where it seems Eramis is digging around his ship, or better yet (and for no alterations to mission structure), have the detour to the Cosmodrome involve the House of Devils remnants handing over some sort of package, you could even mention that it contains salvage from the Moon collected by the House of Dusk. It would preserve the surprise reveal of Taniks during the raid. But I would’ve preferred that we get mention of Taniks during the Campaign, whether it was just him being brought up in a historical context or mention of him still being alive.
