Why do we need this stupid lock down mechanic? This alone causes so many "I'm calling it" matches. What is the point? Why does Bungie want to us to have a bunch 3-4 minute matches? It's just not fun that way. Get rid of it.
Every time I see a lop sided score, I leave the match. There's no incentive for me to stay in these worthless 3 minute games. I'm going for a world record of leaving games at this point.

5 답변They want you to capture and then DEFEND the zones you capture. If you do that, you won't get locked out as much if at all. Playing the objective really does make a difference in IB. It takes people recognizing that all six of you can't be slayers pushing 100% of the time. The time for that is during the lockout, not before. Personally, some of my highest kill games have come from defending B, or just hanging out between whatever 2 zones we have and moving back and forth all game. I've been on winning teams who played the objective despite being down intially and having people leave while we were down. The match announcers literally tell you how to play. Playing "Abandon & Forget Your Zones" or "Leave The Match" is the wrong way.

4 답변it makes perfect sense. capture and defend your zones. no lockdown happens. your incentive is no better in a close game than a mercy, quitting adds to the mercy matches.

Unfortunately there are still too many KD Karens in the game Instead of the lock down mechanic I feel a better solution would be to award the team that caps all 3 points an instant +30 to score total then all zones are reset. In addition the following multipliers should be in effect 0 zones held 1 point per kill 1 zone held 2 points per kill 2 zones held 3 points per kill 3 zones held instant 30 points and all zones reset and capping team has all ability energy (apart fron supers) filled.

1 답변The very objective of modes like Control is to capture and defend all three points, just no one does it in QP because it's safer/ more "rewarding" to just spawn trap the enemy. In IB, you want to end it quickly for the loot and tokens, and the lock down mechanic makes it that much more brutal because that's time one team is getting triple points while all the other can do is just run and hide more often than not.

4 답변작성자: JazzyPaladin477 8/9/2021 7:49:22 PMI love getting dropped into a match and the first thing you hear is “the hunt is on”, you hear multiple silence and squeal and golden bums being cast, and then the score appears, 40-7. “I’m calling this...but the game is still going to continue for 3-5 minutes for some reason.” That’s a Nope. I immediately hold “y to quit” before the squalls can kill me as I spawn in. This at least 10% of games.

10 답변I think it was a (badly misguided) attempt to force players to pay more attention and play to the objectives. But all it did was introduce one of the worst snowball mechanics I’ve ever seen. A former poster here looked at 50 consecutive matches and found that the mercy rate was 25%. … and that was two years ago when IB still had SBMM. Now it seems to be pushing 2 out of every three matches getTing mercied.

Leaving games causes more mercies than just playing out games with rough starts. Coming back from a rough start is not only possible, it’s rewarding to do when you are able to help your team take it. That’s fun. Screwing over other players and wasting your own time by leaving isn’t going to improve the experience of playing the game. If you don’t have fun playing, you don’t have to at all.

2 답변The lockdown part is the one redeeming quality of IB. It means people have to actually play the game mode and not treat it like its clash. If your constantly getting locked down thats not an issue with the game but your team as players.

I agree that the lock down mechanic is a problem. If anything they should give the team that caps all 3 some points for doing so and then they all reset again. no need to keep them locked. The existing lock down mechanic probably isn't as bad when playing in a full fireteam as you could coordinate better to survive the hunt thus denying points, which I would bet that is how it was play tested.

9 답변Then dont play it at all. Its mostly people like you; leaving at the first sign of a [potential] loss who cause the lopesided matches. Or play rumble, where your actions wont affect anyone else.
