What the title says, it really just disincentivizes picking up the engrams from them. As ranks are reset as a new season arrives, you’d have to grind for the level cap anyway to get ranks for loot anyway, so it hardly seems like it’d be cheezing the system. I have things stacked up from Shaxx and Drifter, and know it’s all gonna be garbage so why bother.

It's not about tokens, it's about keeping the game working as a whole, it's about things making sense and being useful to the players. They said we would have vendor reputation rewards but only Shaxx and Drifter have them. Despite that, as of this precise moment, the Drifter is still selling a 1100 power Bygones (with a power cap of 1060) that serve for absolutely no purpose in the game. That's how high the laziness level of Bungie came to, in the seamless, ever evolving game they like to praise and promote. But they always have time and resources to make dozens of new stuff for Eververse every season, event or expansion, without fail!

The system we had in D1 was pretty good. It kept things on an even playing ground when everyone had access to the same weapons. I kept people wanting to log in every week just to see what the tower vendor rolls were like. The cost and cap on the resources needed to purchase this gear was fair. You could typically obly get 1 new item per week but if you grinded enough you could feasibly get 2. Rank up packages dropped powerful and you could choose between weapons and armor to narrow down the RNG a bit. It sucks to need a class item and constantly get weapons or need a primary and get nothing but armor.

15 답변Honestly, I don’t understand why Bungie couldn’t just had done what everyone asked for in Y1 and allow players to purchase loot with the tokens instead of having to turn in tokens for random loot. The system we had in D1 was a million times better.

3 답변Yeah. The vendors should be actual damn vendors and let us buy specific gear with the tokens. D1 had them and they all refreshed with each major expansion - even the faction vendors.

5 답변One of many things broken in this game by the lack of sunsetting, and Bungie's broken progression system.

Bungie took a lot of D1 away to fit their all weapons are the same perk set D2 vanilla. Problem is, they haven't added much back since they got away from it. Vendors had random weapon rolls, the gunsmith, faction vendors, they system still had a chance of spitting out something useful. It's almost like they don't want everyone to have a chance to have the same thing. Which makes sense when you think about how they're even pushing RNG exotics now.

On level loot can still be used to backfill lower slots. The cap season to season is only going up to, but expansions are a different story. They aren’t going to change it because the reason they changed it to -20 would come back.

23 답변The level grind is just unnecessary, it needs looking at without the primary objective being hours played. Bungie chasing stats

Agreed, the lower level gear from vendors was introduced back when we had thousands of tokens and they didn't want that to be the most efficient way of reaching the soft cap. But now that engrams are awarded on rank up it makes zero sense to drop lower powered gear. (Besides it's not like anyone that's played since Beyond Light launched is below the soft cap)

1 답변Yup. Discussed with the clan and tried to discuss on the forums at the other end of the season. Hopefully an oversight and forgivable. Likely intended and stupid.

It's part of Bungie's ever-increasing efforts of aggression against players to force eNgAgEmEnT. I would be genuinely surprised if they ever returned drops to power as opposed to intentionally dropping 20-30 under; especially if they're switching to a lower Seasonal power cap increase.

2 답변Theyre removing the seasonal armor from the battle pass to eliminate another source of on level gear to help with pinnacle leveling imo, they're not going to add more back again.
