Would you leave Destiny if they took out PvP?
Just a survey for devs to see what they should be focused on.
Edit: I've been reading almost all the posts to my poll, and really am enjoying the engaging argument. Yes, I realize the forum has a bias towards PvE. Not much I can do about that. It is what it is.
What I am pleased to see is the COMMENTS seem to be relatively equal in PvP vs PvE...and that was my hope.
Is balance in PvP hurting PvE? Should D2 PvE be a deeper RPG experience? What other games handle this marriage of PvP and PvE well, and how are they able to do that? Is PvP being held back by lack of engaging content?
While most will blame one side for the other's demise, the long and short of it is that Destiny 2 is HUGELY popular...and has been all the while with a marriage of both PvP and PvE...even creating a new genre of game that combines then both, with Gambit.
What I feel Bungie needs to do is continue engaging all three sections of the game equally. Seasons should simply rotate the focus...so each get a large content drop when it's their turn.
As far as balancing the game, they should stop trying so hard. Balancing doesn't mean make EVERYTHING the same. It means making everything have POTENTIAL...if you use the right combination of mods, perks and play styles.
I just don't know if Bungie is slowly killing off PvP to get people to engage with their next IP or are they just struggling to get the right people to fix D2. What I do know, however, is the struggle is real!

3 답변Biased poll is biased. It's not that black and white. But aside from that, PvP is a part of Destiny. We're literally 7 years into the series now and people are still saying stuff like this...it's selfish and inconsiderate honestly.

News flash to pve only players: They already do nothing, and have done nothing for years, with pvp. Pve still sucks. If they removed pvp, a lot of players would quit. The pve content is low quality and not really repayable. A lot of people only grind pve or gambit just to get an edge in pvp with top-tier loot. The story sucks. The loot system sucks. The AI sucks. Difficulty is tied to high health, teleport spam and automatic immunity after X damage received. There is no replayability inherent to pve, most people only do it until they get the drop they want. Most people who don't play pvp don't because they're bad, not because pve is good.

2 답변Destiny PvE just isn’t good or replayable enough. There are only so many times you can do that one raid or strike again. If PvP was to go, they’d have to make the PvE (at least in yearly expansions) much much better. More enemies. New enemy races. A much better story. Varied mission design. Difficulty that isn’t just damage sponges or teleporting. I doubt they would ever remove PvP though. Their intentions for having it are perfectly stated in the state of Destiny for this year. Just a shame we see basically nothing at all in terms of updates. PVP’s pinnacle was D2Y2. Trials has always encouraged a boring and extremely passive style of play. Would prefer if it’s rewards were available in another game mode type.

2 답변If pvp is holding back d2's pve and overall balance, just cut it out it hasn't received a new map in years and other than trials there's no good loot grinding it but I know without pvp a big chunk of players will just leave so its a big decision

Silly question. As a PvE main I can happily live without Crucible in the game... ...right up until Bungie stops supporting it due to lack of players and revenue. If you don't understand that PvE and PvP have a symbiotic relationship then it's likely you don't understand that Bungie are a business, Destiny is a product and we are customers. If the product becomes unprofitable it'll be dropped. Easy math, Guardiman.

I left already lol. I used to play it a lot. But I got really bored with the game. Plus I noticed of all the stuff I grinded for wasn't worth the time. I'm here for the comments and the news. Who knows maybe bungie will make it great again. Vault of Glass was fun. But I've been there and done that.

I love PvP It’s the only difficult things to be good at honeslty if they remove it would probably just play less at the game (But I know a lot of the community would leave bcs it’s basically the PvP that maintains the game alive when there’s no Pve content)

What's funny is it was never this bad till they forced cbmm to cater to sweats and streamers. If they had equal sb and cb modes you'd see a player increase. By doing this tho streamers and sweats would cry like before because it means going back to playing other players of equal skill.

They should be 100% focused on PvE, or at least prioritize it over PvP. I know there’s some “PvP only” players out there, but honestly this game isn’t about that. There’s so much randomness and broken things in the game for it to have any sort of genuine competitiveness. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy it, but it’s not what “Destiny” is about. Destiny is supposed to be an RPG-like, looter shooter, not a game that you train for and take to Esports. I mean, we’re getting Vault of Glass back soon and I see people getting mad over lack of PvP content in the game? Seriously? Lol, like honestly who cares. Use that energy into getting your day one clear. I just don’t see an actual point to even playing this game whatsoever if you’re not in it for the actual game content. -blam!- around in Crucible all you want to, but it gets you nowhere and there’s basically no loot incentive.

As a pvp player No not really, destiny bread and butter comes from its pve no matter what anyone thinks about the value of pvp. If pvp was to go away though, I have to expect that pve will be far better than what we currently get each season. Abilities across the board will need buffs, weapon archetypes will need buffs, perks in the game will have to get lethal and more powerful. Content would have to be much bigger with many more things to do and no I don’t mean bounties. Im talking about more patrol zones to explore and way more story missions that aren’t just go here, kill something. Missions can be more chaotic with vehicles and maybe even allow players to get on their own ships and go ham on enemies. Way more 6 player modes with yes matchmaking! An in game guild system and a much easier way to customize personal load outs for players. This is what bungie would HAVE to do in order to remove pvp and still save its game, otherwise, the game will die out like anthem.

1 답변For sure. What game benefits from having less to do? Not to mention that PvP and Gambit are the only activities with unpredictable variables. Destiny 2's player-base will plummet if PvP is removed. I'm fairly certain players have already left due to Bungie's lack of initiative surrounding PvP.
