It was once said that Joe Staten made a “super cut” of all the cutscenes for the original destiny 1 campaign. Does it still exist anymore? It does seem like d2 is shifting towards some of his old ideas with how they changed uldren to the crow for example. I wish we could have played that game that they were making before they had to cut it a year before release. I still think about it. The story they originally wanted to tell.

3 답변A movie based on the Destiny world would be amazing. Who would be a great Lord Shaxx? Lance Reddick would be an amazing Savala, as he is the voice actor for Zavala, plus the man is built like a tank, and killed a whole squad with John freakin' Wick. Tho, he would have to be blue..

1 답변Also Bungie you had the biggest missed opportunity ever when you brought the crow back and didn’t also bring back the cutscene where he said “out here in the wild this is how we talk” it could have been an awesome moment but you were probably making some eververse ornaments instead

5 답변Bungie never will. Staten probably has a personal backup copy of his own but would get sued he if released it. Now if a copy anonymously leaked that would be interesting...

7 답변Just to be clear I’m sure we will never see this super cut of D1 but damn I’d be lying if I said I didn’t still think about what could have been. Imagine if Marty O donnel was still around how much different things would be.

2 답변작성자: ProbablyJosh 4/11/2021 6:05:51 AMYeah they are finally since BL been taking inspiration from the original story but I agree it'd be awesome to see and play the actual original story that sounds so so much better than what we got, a long time ago I watched the leaked storyboard for the original opening cutscene and it was fantastic. LEAGUES ahead for what we actually got but I haven't been able to find the video for years, I assume it was taken down sadly

I wish Bungie would stop ignoring what they did to Staten because literally everyone knows. I would like them to open up about it more. Why did they decide to reboot the game with so little time? It made no sense and the entire franchise is still suffering from that one decision in my opinion. Bungie lost some of their main people making this game. That’s what’s sad to me. The person who created this universe didn’t even get to tell his story.

3 답변I wish we could have the Staten cut. Sadly we're stuck with the 1000 monkeys with typewriters cut.

1 답변We are playing the original D1 storyline right now. Some much of this sounds so much like the plot that Kataku leaked years ago.

8 답변The super cut wasn’t just for D1 but the overall arch of the entire franchise. I’d love to see it. There was a supposed leak of the original contract that detailed some of the original storyline. I read it and it sounded vaguely interesting. Basically the Traveler was the source of Dark and Light and the Vanguard leaders knew about it. Crow was meant to guide us to the truth. That’s where the Ulan-Tan idea came from. We couldn’t stop the Darkness without sacrificing the Light since they came from the same source.

6 답변It was just the script, not cutscenes. There's no way all of that would have been developed. Unless someone backed it up (like Staten himself), the chances of it truly existing might be low. Still sometimes think what could have been, I know, it stings. Even with how D1 started, i was tolerable to the idea of it evolving to reach that point. I did the math a while back and kinda drew to the idea that over these 7 years, the fundamental gameplay or way of playing Destiny has not really grown. There might be significantly "more" now than before, but it never really went beyond. It's still a matter of doing the cut and dry routine week to week. It doesn't make the world feel alive at all, leaving its "evolving" qualities as time goes on kinda meh. Ships are still just loading screens, the city is still a stage rather than an actual town, you can't just go anywhere you want. Interaction with others is so weak (they had to literally add game chat), it just keeps going. I longed for that "raid" of Charlemange's tomb on Mars to find Thorn. What happened instead? BOUNTY Bungie didn't even go for the things they did right with Halo that were not exclusive to it. Halo doesn't own map editors or custom gamemodes, or replay theaters. User-generated content is so important to the community and they just didn't try beyond a basic ass private match. It's hard to look at anything we have now and say adding that would be easy, it's probably impossible, but had the game been built differently from the start, and if the excess didn't push away their best minds, I feel like we wouldn't be in such a low spot where the game is pretty much ruined by apathy.
The story they originally wanted to tell.
You mean the person Bungie literally screwed over, the one that cared about the game, and the players that knew what he was doing? Yeah, got to give Bungie a standing ovation on that one.

2 답변D1 is over and done with. What does it matter anymore? Perhaps it might have been better with it, perhaps not. They moved on. It’s sad in a way because of the wasted effort, but it won’t make D2 magically a better game if reused. We’re in maintenance mode, not break out onto the market mode. Best we can hope for is quality of live improvements, decent seasonal missions like presage and hopefully down the road a D3 done in a new engine, not marinated in the latest fad business model, but with a rather solid foundation. One can dream I guess.

2 답변작성자: Black Howling 4/11/2021 12:02:34 AMI've said it in the past; I would literally pay money to see that in its entirety. Staten knows what the hell he's doing. I have no doubt Destiny would be in a much better place if he were still around and the old team had more control over the actual game.
-
4 답변Didnt even know the original story was cut. Would be dope to see the original - maybe thats what their new project is?
-
1 답변How do you think they are able to piece together all the seasonal cut scenes and story? It was creatively done from the ground up it was old content they re worked
-
1 답변If they're taking some elements from his story, I doubt we'll see it until years after Destiny is done as a franchise, or until that original story is no longer possible in the storyline. As long as there's spoilers/elements they can use, I doubt we'll see it.
