The game runs just fine and smooth everywhere EXCEPT crucible. Massive frame drops as low as 2fps and the highest I could have in crucible is 17fps.
System Specs:
CPU: AMD R5 2500 @ 3.9GHz
GPU: AMD RX5700
RAM: 16GB @ 3000MHz
Storage is an HDD with 7200RPM if that makes a difference.
Other multiplayer games like Apex Legends, Overwatch, Modern Warfare, and Cold War run at over 60+fps. Destiny 2 is the only game where the crucible multiplayer is unplayable for me.

I have no idea how you manage that. I have a Ryzen 5800X and 6800XT Sapphire Nitro+ and I rarely see fps over 90. Just in random locations but most of the time I'm running at like 40-50fps. Feels like I might as well play on my xbox.

I had a 6800 and had the same issues. I went back to 5700xt with driver 20.4.2 and it fixed everything. Thankfully that card still performs very well with my gear so playing other games isn't a hit. But it's super poopy if you don't have an older gpu and Destiny is your primary game.
