Things Bungie have kinda forgotten about
Disclaimer: this isn't me calling Bungie lazy or forgetful, just lore tidbits that seem to have been forgotten
[b][u]Cabal high gravity environment[/u][/b]: the Cabal evolved on a high gravity world and as such need to maintain that gravity within their space suites, that's why popping their helmets off is so bad. However it's very clear that Bungie has forgotten this since the red war with Ghaul and Consol having their helmets off outside their ship, and having the speaker completely unharmed by the gravity within their ship. Bungie remembered this in a lore card during forsaken, but immediately forgot about it again with season of the chosen! How the hell are Zavala and Osiris walking in a Cabal ship without getting flattened like a pancake??
[b][u]the Jovians[/u][/b]: Xûr's race, a faction of humans that live out in the Jovian moons of Jupiter and are tied to the nine... Haven't been mentioned since D1, where I believe they were only mentioned once even back then. We've been to two Jovian moons now, and unless the Jovians are living on one of the 70 astroid's caught in Jupiter's gravitational pull they have to be on either Ganymede or Callisto. A friend of mine pointed out that due to the lack of information on them since D1 it's possible they don't actually exist and were just a case of unreliable narrators, in which case... Alright
[b][u]Scorn Barons can revive[/u][/b]: yes I know, I can hear the MOANS and the GROANS. But you know I had to mention this... I couldn't, in good faith, leave this out. It's very clear that despite the heroic dark ether public event confirming that at the very least Elykris the Machinist is still active, Bungie still forgets that the Scorn Barons can be revived. Instead opting for only Fikrul constantly returning, who is also sometimes treated as being deceased as well thanks to some season of the worthy bounty flavor text. At least they didn't forget the scorn entirely...

also that there is radiation in space, but we can casually walk around in just our armor. yet when we pick up a nuclear bomb we get irradiated. doesn't really make sense since nuclear warhead have radiation shielding around the radioactive core. also that the moon and some of the other destinations dont have breathable atmospheres yet we see Eris and Salone walking around without helmets.

3 답변Pretty sure they scrapped that xur stuff and changed it in d2 to be that he is a vessel created by the nine so they can attempt to understand our plane of existence, same as the weird lady one (emissary) that ran trials of the nine and prophecy. Also the weirdest part of the D2 xur lore was finding out that the emissary beat xurs ass and thats why he is always hunched/limping

We now know where Xur came from and that "Jovians" probably don't actually exist. They could, possibly, but if they do they aren't relevant to the story anymore. The Scorn/ Barons: The lore says that the corruption in the ether that revives the Scorn is corrosive it actually eats away at their flesh. Because of this, they can only be revived a certain number of times before they just disintegrate. So it's possible the Barons are actually dead. Though, with this Cabal experimentation and the Crown of Sorrows, who knows?

6 답변The other Scorn Barons can BE revived, but it seems only Fikrul can self revive. Tut tut Sky, he’s the only one with the pure dark Ether. Rest of the Scorn use the diluted strain. However Fikrul can reanimate them himself, hence why killing him allows us to keep the Scorn from making any major regroup.

3 답변For the Jovians, I just picture something out of the climax of Jupiter Ascending. Terrible movie IMO but the final set-piece was a massive city inside the planet. I highly advise you look it up. It’s just stuck in my head for years as a dream of mine in destiny. Maybe a lost golden age city deep inside the swirling cloud filled with the jovians and currently under a vex or scorn incursion we need to fight off. Idk. Titan was really cool, but needed to be expanded. This would just be a cooler version.

Could argue from the Presage quest that the Hangman baron was revived and corrupted by the anomaly to become the locust of communion. Would show that the barons are still being used to some degree in the D2 story.

1 답변Wait, why would evolving on a high gravity world require them to wear suits in low gravity environments? Only the opposite would be true. Astronauts only have to wear suits when on an EVA. It’s the same thing.

To answer your first question, at least for Zavala, the light. It protects us from space. Why not here? And also, its possible the cabal aren't all raised on that home planet anymore and thus can survive with regular gravity.

Hahah! Hell, I've read through just about everything and never even seen that their ships have different gravities written anywhere! That probably leaked outta Bungo's empty head too if it's actually true! I mean, how come the Guardian and his cronies don’t get flattened ever when they've stepped into any Cabal ship?
