Undo Super Regen Exotics’ Nerf

Now that stasis is out and light subclass supers aren’t getting much play anymore.... you should undo the most recent nerfs to the super regen exotics!! Orpheus Rigs Shards of Galinor Skull of Dire Ahamkara Ursa Furiosa Phoenix Protocol can stay where it’s at currently.

  • They should rework shards of galanor to give flat super energy like the other super regen exotics. Just because mayhem is mayhem doesn’t mean balance should be completely disregarded.

    • I bet you play as a hunter, stasis is garbage, light classes need work but I do not want to run up against infinite barrage blades in pvp

    • Am I the only who finds light classes much better than stasis in pve? Orpheus rigs are still OP for top tree nightsalker. You don't get your super back immediately by yourself, but you feed your team mates lots of orbs. Still my favorite pve exotic.

    • What they did to Orpheus Rigs is just 😢 I tried it recently, solo Shuro Chi checkpoint to run through some catalyst kills. OK - quick 50% super return after tethering 20 or so at start but filling up the rest seemed held back? Still helps though, I guess, since damage to one in the tethered group kills others & still counts as a gun kill 👌🏽

    • I'd just give them a different functionality alongside super regen. An example would be making Phoenix Protocol turn Well into a mobile aura with half the duration, or SODA granting your Nova Shatter or Lance or something.

    • As much fun as they were, they were op and needed the nerf, nobody was running anything but these meta super return builds. They should actually remove the super returns on them and replace them with ways to buff the supers instead?

      The problem with shards is they changed it from returning super energy off the amount of enemies the knives made contact with vs how it is now being based off explosive damage making it viable for super return only against large yellow bar targets. Gambit primes as an example. Using it on red n orange bar mobs is a waste and returns very little energy if any. Skull they completely neutered. It was broken 1000000%. Youd get a full bar after killing 3 or 4 red bars it was insane. I think rigs are fine where they are you throw a tether in a nice spot 95% of the time you end up w 50% super return & with all the weapons ppl have masterworked it shouldn't be too hard to get a super. And I agree with phoenix protocol they are fine as is. Just need teammates to sit in the well & dump on enemies. Edit: forgot about ursas i remember PvP being the cause for it being nerfed, my opinion is to just not shoot the big ol bubble .. Whenever I used it since the Nerf the most effective way to get a return in my opinion was guarding against ogres since they don't have any cool down on their eye blast nonsense. Ursas 100% needs a buff

      I don't feel like dealing with blade barrage every survival round. UF has a good place in nightfalls.

        I always believed exotics should afford new powers. If it were me I'd tune these exotics like this. Phoenix Protocol- produces an intense fire within the well that burns enemies on contact Skull of Dire Ahamkara- (Lance) increases the speed and impact damage of all Nova Bomb supers as well as sending them on a linear path Orpheus Rigs- (this is the one exotic I think is okay for super regen for the trapper) on the Moebius Quiver tree fires 3 tracking bolts hold fire to charde one high damage explosive bolt in place of the smaller anchored bolts Shards of Galinor- (can't decide between two) Adds a burning AoE that sets enemies on fire who come in contact or adds a 3rd shrowing knives wave. Ursa Furiosa- adds a suppression and blinding effect within the radius of the Banner Shield on Code of the Commander. (Allows this to be the counter to melee based roaming supers) I've played with these ideas for sometime, but I doubt Bungie will ever have the stones to make exotics with these effects

        • Agreed. Only the skull needed to be nerfed slightly. Rigs was fine because the super does no damage. Shards was fine because of the low and inconsistent damage of blade barrage. Ursa was fine because you have to give up offense for super energy recharge. Auto reload on Rally barracade and lunafaction boots and sealed ahamkara's grasp also need to come back. I am doubtful these exotics will be restored. They are a casualty of Luke Smith reign of terror.

        • Shards and Skull should still be capped at 50%, but the amount of kills needed is reduced. I don’t wanna go back to the days of a Hunter getting 2 kills with their super and almost having it back. Ursa and Orpheus are fine since they’re both really good.

          • Skull and Shards, absolutely. When an Exotic like Celestial Nighthawk provides not only a damage bonus, but also 33% super energy on a kill; other exotics that only provide super energy need to be more powerful. Skull simply needs a straight up buff while Shards needs an overhaul on how the buff works. Shards is stupid OP in Mayhem, but that's because the Exotic gives increased regen rather than a straight chunk of super energy. Orpheus Rigs and Ursa are fine as is to be honest. Ursa can easily get you 75% of your super back if you are using it effectively. I could actually see a slight nerf to Ursa. Orpheus only gets you back 50% when used effectively, however, this is plenty given not only the potency of the super when it comes to add clear, but also the ability to get a decent amount of super energy back from killing tethered adds. Phoenix does not need a buff, but a slight nerf would be fine as well (get it, Well...)

                LOL no. No no no, no. Nope, no. No way. No. Do light subclasses need to be brought up? Sure. Is that the way to do it? God no. The worst era of Destiny 2 was when those were in full force and Bungie had to design around them. To be frank, I don't think any of those exotics should even exist.

                  • They were nerfed because it made content too easy and they had to make reckoning crazy difficult to align with our power. When they nerfed them and hadn’t yet changed reckoning it was clear how op they were originally. Bungie don’t want to make activities like reckoning again so they will stay “balanced”.

                    They should rework the perks instead of buffing super regeneration. Skull, for example, could change the nature of Nova Bomb with greatly increased Nova Bomb damage.
