Carries and recoveries also bypass the entire mode. The person benefiting does not have to put in any effort.
As for your analogy to theft, who is the victim in win trading.
Carries and recoveries also bypass the entire mode. The person benefiting does not have to put in any effort.
At least with a carry, the two other players need to up their game and the carry is participating. Recovs are cheating in my eyes.
As for your analogy to theft, who is the victim in win trading.
Any legit player who ends up being falsely viewed as a cheater because their emblems/rewards are associated with mass cheating.

My issue with your first statement is that the carry doesn’t need to participate at all. How many videos are there where people go flawless with full cards being 2v3’s or 1v3’s. You could just have your character run in a circle and come back after an hour or two and boom, flawless. Secondly, who is the victim in win-trading? I’ve never seen an emblem and thought, “That person must be cheating.” When I see garbage people with flawless emblems I just assume they got carried and then i forget about it. Even if it were to be associated with cheating, people aren’t going to message someone en masse because of an emblem. If they’re legit, that’s what that person should care about, and if they do they can take it off.

Your inability to reconcile how your position reflects upon your character is a reflection of your character. You appear to be missing the whole point of Trials of Osiris. In the exact same way that everyone who exploits or win trades,...(notice I did not use the word cheat, just to humor you),...fails to recognize that their behavior cheapens the meaning of the competition. You all have just made Trials of Osiris Flawless completely meaningless. Might as well be participation ribbons at this point.
You all have just made Trials of Osiris Flawless completely meaningless. Might as well be participation ribbons at this point.
Um... It's a video game. It already IS completely meaningless. They should be played for fun, and to kill time. If video game "accomplishments" are legitimate measures of self worth or self esteem then there are far bigger issues that need to be addressed. Unless you are professionally playing the game as a way of making a living, then it shouldn't be taken serious.

They could, but they often dont. Seen many carries where the carry rubberbands their sticks? Nope. And a handicapped team is just that - handicapped. Just because you dont care about something doesnt mean that nobody else could or should.
-
Well yeah, of course not, people want to participate even if they can’t heavily contribute. It doesn’t feel good to do nothing even if they can. It feels better to say, “Someone helped me make it to the lighthouse,” rather than, “I was AFK and made it to the lighthouse.” If they got it legit and earned it, they shouldn’t care if other people view them as cheaters. They should be proud of their achievements. Other people are entitled to their views.

Being viewed as a cheater certainly takes the shine off anything. Not to mention that the reason sweat levels are as high as they are is because so many people resort to cheating their way to loot. "We just want a fair crack" they say as they perpetuate the problem. 😓

Yeah, seeing posts that say Trials is busted but when you look at their history they went through a buddy of ghost lobbies is baffling. I’ve seen it twice in the past week. Sweating would be mitigated if people cared about something other than the 3 wins and flawless rewards. As soon as someone gets a loss on their card they reset them stomp their way back to where they were. There just isn’t enough incentive to play. The bounty for the three win reward is a good start but not very good as the Cliff Divers have shown. I don’t know why they won’t just go back to the D1 system.
I don’t know why they won’t just go back to the D1 system.
Having discussed this with a Trials-centric friend who elaborated on this, I'm inclined to agree. From that State of the Game article, sounds like Bungie are gonna move back towards that.
-
If they do, I’m sure Bungie will find a way to include something that will only serve to make it worse, even if it’s perfect, I’ll be curious to hear what people will complain about. I just don’t know why they’re waiting to add what people want. Adding post-game drops, more bounties that award gear, or changing the matchmaking can’t be hard enough to where we have to wait months.

I'm not a game dev, so I cant speak to the reasons for the delay. I'd just be content with a Trials where wins 1-3 werent overly sweaty, wins 3-5 were tryhard spandex time and wins 6 and 7 are balls to the wall sweatlantic ocean hours. Post game drops and sweat dilution would get me interested tbh.
