No.
I have an Xbox Series X. I have 10 games store on the internal SSD drive.
...and that consumes nearly half of the storage space. It would be almost two-thirds of the space on a PS5.
The days of this game being able to simply balloon in size endlessly are over.
The new consoles won’t permit it, and the game runs better...much better...without dragging zombie content behind it.
Bungie can barely keep the content that is currently in the game supplied with loot. Why bring back content no one plays with loot no one will want?

I’m not pro reinstating “dead” content either but your argument about game size doesn’t stand since COD has ballooned in size so much that Activision have said that Warzone with both MW and BO won’t fit on a PS5 drive. Absolutely bonkers if you ask me but if one of the biggest franchises in the world can get away with it, no reason others wouldn’t follow suit. Also, I’d consider not being so matter of fact with your opinions regarding Bungie’s thought process since the whole reversal of sunsetting. I’m not saying you’re not entitled to vocalise you’re opinion but I think your tone (or as close to tone as you can get on a forum) is why you get so much pushback.

We’re talking about precedent, though. The game itself is irrelevant although Warzone, a consistently updated BR, has continued to increase in size since its release so the comparison isn’t as strained as you make out. Essentially the end issue is bloat, COD is already at the point of being too big to fit on a drive, that’s essentially the worst case scenario for Destiny. Besides, I actually agree with the concept of the DCV. It’s essential for a game to keep streamlined. Personally I find it jarring still playing through strikes with Cayde in but the biggest issue is that when this content is cut, there’s often nothing that fills the void. I was just giving you some friendly advice about considering not acting as though your word is gospel, especially in a climate where you’ve recently been proven wrong.

The game is relevant. A CoD game gets played for a year, and then gets uninstalled for the next one. Destiny, prior to DCV, was a single game that just kept growing and growing in size. Without Bungie removing content for the last two years, this game could have easily reached over 200 GB in size. That is NOT tenable with this current generation of content hardware. Storage space is expensive and precious.

작성자: TheArtist 2/28/2021 3:30:15 PMCan’t. Especially on PS5. PS5 games only run on the internal drive, and right now that is 625GB of non-expandable space. On Series X that’s 819GB of space that cost $200 US to expand and requires a proprietary SSD. The days of Bungie allowing this game to grow uncontrollably are over. The console market won’t tolerate it.

It's a bit disappointing that they have to restrict storage expansion to PCIe to avoid the headache of ignorant consumers trying to expand their storage using HDDs. SATA SSDs are cheaper per GB than NVMe (PCIe), and, in my opinion, aren't a significant downgrade when loading games. OS boot, yes, it would be, while fast boot/startup is a not an enabled feature. The proprietary requirement for Microsoft sucks, but it's a movement toward a subscription-based gaming model. I think they want to eventually phase Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass into a single subscription service rather than the current segregated model.

If your a console gamer who plays alot of games. Its almost mandatory to have an external drive that you can transfer games to and from.
Call of Duty is taking the piss at this point, it's not even a viable argument for file size anymore.
Imagine compressing your files, lmao

I agree its insane how big it is. But even at that sizenits one of the most popular games out there. Millions of people are willing to give up half their disk space for it lol Im on pc so file size doesnt matter much. But even on console people allow it.
