Want the new exotic armor that drops from master lost sectors? Gotta sell your soul and grind power levels! Want to play the new raid? Gotta sell your soul and grind power levels!
Want to play the master nightfall? Gotta sell your soul and grind power levels!
I couldn't care less about the fact that I have to be a specific light level to be able to play, but doing activities on repeat every week is boring. Don't get me wrong, the battle grounds are fun, but it's the same thing every time, just on a different planet. The problem that this stems from is that Destiny 2 is, I believe that the power level cap is raised a bit too much each season, so it takes longer to grind for power levels, which makes said activities boring over time. I had more fun grinding in Destiny 1 and in the earlier years of Destiny 2. I'm not saying this post should be some bible that people worship, just sharing my thoughts and opinions. Please be constructive.
UPDATE: Bungie just announced that they're reducing power level increases for non-expansion seasons! I'm not saying this post caused that, but thank you so much for the many likes on this post.

1 답변Wait til next season when the increase will only be 10 PL. Pinnacle options will more than likely shrink to near zero. So the grind will be the same if not worse.

2 답변Doing a portion of weekly pinnacle and powerful rewards each week can be done easily and you don't even fall behind almost anywhere if you put 5 hours instead of 50 hours per week into this game. I don't understand the term "power leveling" if it just reqiures you to play the game on a casual base.

1 답변Ok drama queen. Season just started and my titan hit base level 1300 with no grinding just playing what I wanted. Sell ur soul? Oh man Lmfaoooooooo

Week 2 just ended and I'm a few points from the pinnacle cap. I haven't even started grinding it either, just having fun with the new content. The best way to grind the same activities over and over is to try new loadouts/builds while doing it. Have fun!

2 답변The grind isn't the issue it's the fact that power means nothing except as a negative or a gate block.

작성자: Doctor_Roidberg 2/24/2021 2:42:09 AMI could almost bear the power level grind for a while now, but when sunsetting is forcing guns out of people’s hands AND now they’re locking exotics behind light level grinding? The exotic catalyst for Dead Man’s Tale is a recommended 1320 and requires a minimum 1310 to actually not get instakilled and do respectable damage before the timer runs out. Meanwhile I’m getting two tapped in solo 1300 Lost Sectors just trying to get the Titan Chestpiece so I can actually have FUN in this clown fiesta of a game. Does Bungie remember what fun is? Because repeatedly grinding the same content every season to achieve an artificial power increase that literally does nothing but make the same old enemies NOT melt you in this season is not how I define fun.

3 years of D1: 400 Light level 3 Years of D2: 1200+ power level. Seems legit. We will probably be 1600-2000 power by the end of Destiny... why is this necessary? Annual DLC power increase? Sure, why not. Seasonal power increases? Totally not necessary. Grinding power is not content.

4 답변I’ve said this before but I don’t even feel like leveling one guardian let alone three. For a few years now I’ve complained about the resources (and the layered resources) you need in order to level or buy stuff. Absolutely still hate spider. Some of ts has no use at all than to make you run a loop. Add in sunset, the slow leveling, and level increases every three months? I’m a super casual player now. I grind exotic quests and play the new strikes and stop playing until the next exotic. Forsaken didn’t do it right at first, but right when the system felt close to perfect during forsaken bungie fucked it all up when SK released. There’s a good system, they just don’t care to bring it back or....idk, can’t find the balance. I miss d1 where I’d max out one guardian, share loot with the alts. Then I could just focus finishing the campaign on my alts, and grind for god rolls and loot I wanted. I can’t personally remember anyone complaining about that....tho people did -blam!- about running out of stuff to do, but that’s on you as player..not bungie. I hate hate feeling like they’re micromanage my time in the game. I’ll admit there’s a bit more freedom right now, but The micromanaging is very noticeable imo. No one has to agree.

3 답변This is one aspect of the game I am completely over with. It's one thing to have a leveling system in any game, but in Destiny, it isn't a leveling system. We're not leveling up to become stronger. We're leveling up to reduce our weakness. Every area in Destiny has a bottom line, and we can never go above it. We can only be even with it. At the start of every expansion and season, we're put below this line, putting us at a disadvantage, and then we have to work back up to it. Another HUGE problem is that ALL of your gear is put below the line. It's not one thing to hit the power cap to finally be able to comfortably do a heroic lost sector. You need to make sure the loadout that you want is also up to that power cap. Maybe you forgot to upgrade Anarchy and you don't have any spare heavy weapons to infuse when you WANT to play the activity. It's a horrible feeling. Or maybe you have that creative loadout in mind, but it involves weapons or exotics you just haven't touched in a while, and now you have to farm around to get blues to infuse because you don't have any in that moment. It's just a waste of time. As it is currently, Destiny would be better off not having a leveling system. It honestly would. Just be a regular shooter with difficulty levels. The Presage mission was a great example of how this works. Everyone was above the recommended light, but yet it scaled to us regardless. What the flip? At that point, it's not power. It's just an arbitrary difficulty setting like "Normal." So, with that in mind, get rid of power, and every activity in the game is set to "Normal" difficulty. It allows players to only have to focus on loot, because power grinding sucks and is such a bad experience in this game.

2 답변I can see the grind being there if power meant something in this game. Destiny use to about that to an extent, but D2 Bungie just wants players to grind and it shouldn't be just about that. VoG is being brought over and one of the things that has me concerned is how they have kept us weak. So when it comes to the Templar how we're out in the open that and champions is going to be interesting to say the least to see how things are going to play out.

An idea I have is to drop the power level thing we got now with having to infuse powerful gear into other gear, but just go to a actual leveling system that takes allot of xp to rank up once, but you can do anything to rank up, that max out at say 40 and resets every season. For example, if you want to do master nighfall you gotta be level 20 or somthing like that. So you go out and and level up, and the higher the difficulty, the higher the level you have to be. Again it will take a bit to level up so its not to easy, but maybe they can have double xp weeks for say battlegrounds, or strikes or whatever. A better way to understand this is just imagine completely removing powerlevel, and solely relying on your seasonal artifact power to get you into higher level activities. I think this would reduce the fatigue and that irritating feeling of getting boots over and over when you may need a helmet, and all around make it more fun to play. Im sure there are allot of holes in this, but its just an idea.

2 답변Especially since sunsetting happens, there is no reason to put forth the effort to to get stuff that will be useless in a few months.

3 답변Leveling isn't bad. The problem is that this game has a leveling system that is INCREDIBLY disrespectful to player time investment....by design. The progression system is RNG based, rather than EXP based. So once you hit the Milestone system, you are effectively GAMBLING with your time, and hoping the game will spit out something that will progress your character. Otherwise you've wasted your time. The goal being not to reward you for your time....but to WASTE it so that Bungie can limit how fast you progress each week...and keep you coming back for as long as possible before you reach level cap. Why? Because the game can't generate enough loot to keep you coming back chasing after cool loot items like well-designed loot games can do.

1 답변Grinding for a pointless number every season is what bungie considers content. The sad reality now.
-
One thing I keep saying is they need to stop making the last 10 power levels only come from pinnacle gear. Let powerful and pinnacle rewards advance us all the way to the seasonal power cap. And get rid of the artifact adding levels.
-
To all saying its not that bad, I kinda agree, I don't personally think that it's bad, it's just getting stupidly boring and repetitive every season IMO. Kinda getting annoying having to go through the same 5 week process at the start of every season for years. Could do with either a change, or just straight removal of the seasonal creap.
