So she should run raids until she has enough coins to buy it?
How is that fair?
She has the weapon in her inventory and can use it, albeit only with 1 round.
Bungie autocompletes catalysts for things like the outbreak perfected, because they removed the quest but can't bump the exotic she has on her character to a complete version when they remove the whole raid?

The only catalyst that is close to it is Outbreak Perfected where they removed the SIVA particle requirement. However, all catalysts still have their original requirement, completable or not, until the release of changes to make them earnable and completable again.

This isn't about catalysts. It's about Bungie autocompleting partial weapons quests. I have a friend that had the done the initial heroic run to get the catalyst for the O.P. Matter of fact, he didn't even have to actually DO anything, he just loaded in and 2 buddies ran the mission and completed it and he got the catalyst. He never completed the rest of the runs to finish it so it was not completed. Instead of removing the now defunct incomplete catalyst, Bungie autocompleted it for him as they took away the mission and its quest steps. For the LoA, they took away the Raid and the ability to get the tokens and complete the quest to finalize the weapon. By the very nature of their own actions, they should have autocompleted the weapon, not force her to 'buy' it as if she never had it in the first place. She wouldn't have the catalyst but there was ZERO reason they couldn't complete it to at least the base weapon. Stuff like this is exactly why people refer to them as Bungle. Inconsistent behaviours when programming.
