Spin: Sunsetting will help us to rebalance the game while forcing players to adapt and change to new metas that will ultimately improve your experience.
Truth: We are not capable of keeping up with D2’s development cycle. Sunsetting is a means of taking pressure off of our limited staff who are overwhelmed and disheartened with the nonsensical whims of our lackluster management.
Spin: Over the last few weeks we have been studying what effect Stasis has had in the wild so we can tune and make small adjustments. We are now able to make very fast changes due to the Destiny Content Vault taking pressure off of the game. Aren’t you glad we did that?
Truth: We were aware during our testing that Stasis was ridiculously unbalanced and have been working on this nerf of Stasis supers for months. We’re still slow as hell and want to distract you from the fact that we delayed the game for months and still failed to makes these obvious changes. Yes, COVID-19 played a role in this, but look at our track record and you’ll see being late, unbalanced, and under delivering is in our DNA.
Spin: We are trying to make the moon and dreaming city destinations relevant again.
Truth: We create vacuums on purpose to make it look like we are adding content when we are really just giving you shit you already have. This is necessary because the majority of our truly innovative staff members are working on MATTER.
Spin: We are excited to tell you more, but we want to share more of our vision for new seasons in the coming weeks.
Truth: Major decisions have not yet been finalized. We are literally making this shit up as we go.

1 답변There is no way to make grinding old content the same weapons over and over interesting. Development is hard. Bungie already has our money. No more preorders. No more cash shop. Play free.

37 답변I would argue that much of what you’re pointing out comes down to a matter of perspective. Essentially it’s two different narratives, Bungie’s viewpoint versus the Forum Community’s viewpoint. Neither side seems fully capable of grasping what the other thinks, wants, intends, etc., which I believe is the root of our problems here. Yes, Bungie has been consistently falling short of community expectations when you read these forums. Yes, sunsetting is a very unpopular decision. Yes, there seems to be less “bang for your buck” with each subsequent expansion. All that said however, I still maintain that Bungie simply cannot be purposefully delivering poor quality content.
I recognize that the previous sentence sounds like Bungie defense, which typically means you get immediately ignored, however that’s not my intent. Hear me out.
If you had created something you thought was good, maybe a piece of art or something, and put it on public display for an auction, you typically wouldn’t do that unless you thought it was a quality piece. Imagine then that you got feedback from two different people... The first person says that you’re awful and talentless, that their cousin’s handicapped dog could create a better piece of artwork, that you were scamming the community by attempting to sell this garbage, and that you should go die in a hole. The second person says that they can see the effort you put into your work and, while there are some positives, your shading and perspective could use some significant work if you’re wanting to make a masterpiece. Both are critical of your work, but only one response has any real credibility. Which one would you be more likely to listen to? In case to missed it, the first critique represented the tactics employed in these forums. The simple fact is that these forums are a horribly ineffective community mouthpiece. The majority of posts here are intensely negative and consistently assume the worst possible actions and intent from Bungie, and the replies are even more toxic than the original posts. When you’re unreasonably, illogically hateful, you’re going to be ignored. Not excusing Bungie’s recent actions, simply pointing out that the way people approach Bungie in these forums makes it easy for them to ignore anything they read here because most of it lacks any common sense, decency, and credibility. Something to think about.

lol they nerfed Warlock stasis abilities and super after 1 week. I’m sure if they wanted to nerf others they could do it just as fast. I’m pretty sure they didn’t want to over-react, or nerf too heavily. They readjusted some of the nerf to warlock stasis melee, giving it some of its range back and making it easier to cast at closer ranges to targets. They may still over nerf Hunter’s freeze slam-a-jam-a. Just because they can nerf and buff things within hours of seeing feedback doesn’t mean they’re going to knee jerk every time this community chirps. Sometimes you got to let the baby cry it out and see if it’s actually as bad as it seems.

Spin: We are trying to make the moon and dreaming city destinations relevant again. Truth: We create vacuums on purpose to make it look like we are adding content when we are really just giving you shit you already have. This is necessary because the majority of our truly innovative staff members are working on MATTER. This is assuming Bungie was thinking that far ahead. It's more likely they completely forgot about these two planets. Simply because most people stopped playing Dreaming City and the Moon long before Beyond Light, they realized that having two planets where the gear is no longer relevant, means that there's dead content in a game that they already cut 50% out of. Spin: We are excited to tell you more, but we want to share more of our vision for new seasons in the coming weeks. Truth: Major decisions have not yet been finalized. 7 답변I feel like if the forum people spent as much effort diving into different hobbies as much as they do armchairing their dev arguments, they'd be a lot better off. There's a reason the Bungie.net forums are the laughing stock of the active Destiny community.

6 답변Here's a couple more. This time no spins. Just truths. Truth 1: Bungie accepts Beyond Light is no Forsaken. Admits can't make Forsaken size game because did not have the same teams working on the game as when they had help from Activision. Truth 2: About the same time, their CEO comes out and admits company is working on other projects. Conclusion: On one note, they say they can't do a scale of something anymore. On another note, they are saying they are doing a lot of things besides this thing that they can't do something about anymore. Almost like bragging of their capacity to juggle other projects, and yet admitting of falling short with another. That is what you call an incongruency. Some kind of conflict of interest in their priorities. It really is bizzare and funny once you grasp the logic and the connection between these two factual information. It's weird and yet it's true. If you are wondering why the game is in this state. Just look at these 2 truths. Maybe it will give us a bit of a hint why.

Yea I didn’t understand the logic of removing stuff for the sake of speed updates, or whatever else. The speed of updates is just like any other time, and after the supposedly new engine was brought in, what was left of the game is now plagued with even more bugs. How can they allow things like triumphs and challenges to be bugged and that content needs to be paid for. None of what they did for the better of this game is justified as, we still have a game with less content and even more bugs.
