Can we get some straight characters ?
The only character that we know he could be straight is cayde and he isn’t even sure that he had a son
Also how comes that almost every main character is either gay bi or lesbian?

Probably not. Doesn't tick the "minority front and centre" box that Bungie love so much. You only have to look at the Clovis Bray storyline where Ana and Elsie, despite being as much a part of Clovis Bray as Clovis himself, see the light in a thinly veiled "Smash the Patriarchy" weak storyline that basically ignored their part in everything. Isn't the narrative lead female ?? .. You can tell by the crap "Just be there for me as my sister" lines in front the of the giant Exo head during a quest. Pass the bucket. You only have to look at Bungie taking male and female away from our characters to see what they are about, its all about pandering to the vocal minority who get really upset if they aren't front and centre in everything. When Savathun turns up she will be a Transgender Hive transitioning to be a Vex who is on a crusade to ensure everyone uses their pronouns under pain of death and the raid will be for gay and Transgender characters only. And the enemy will be a straight white man. They are a joke company. Just look at the state of the game. Don't let them bother you one bit.

It's basically like the overly supportive friends who's obnoxious about it and it's kinda annoying. "Cool bro I get it your happy that I'm gay and you support it but you don't have to announce it to every single person you see." Type of situation. If that makes sense.

4 답변I think bringing back Saint-14 (As much as I love the weapon and armour art) was a bad idea, in general. He was more badass when he was dead. But I also agree. 98% of the human race likes the other sex. it's true! Men love women, and get this! Women LOVE men! Especially good looking ones! It's almost like that's NORMAL? Yes, I get it, I'm evil, I like women. If nothing else, my character's personal (My head) canon was married, and had a family, before he became an Exo. He was also a military man, a heavy weapons expert. So nah!

5 답변Robots don't have a gender... A poor man's dr strange is in love with a robot. Why does the internet have to worry about representation on either side? [i]it's a videogame[/i]. Put bullets in between some aliens eyes and call it a day. Sexual preference doesn't enrich a story nor does it do anything for gameplay. My TTK isn't dependent on whom I choose to sleep with.

Wanting representation of yourself is valid, end of story. That being said, I don't think the Osiris/Saint relationship is bad because of them being gay, its because the romance is happening in the first place. Seriously, rewrite this story with Saint as the girl. Get rid of the notion of representation and then think about it. This relationship only serves to hurt the story because it lessens the value of what these people did. Instead of Saint running off to get Osiris because he believed that it was necessary for Osiris to be around to win and because he valued Osiris as a sibling, now he chases after him because he has romantic feelings for him.

1 답변This is a dumb post, but I get it. Sexuality isn't really relevant in D2, so it only gets mentioned when it's not the standard heterosexual pairing. That being said, Osiris' and Saint being in love is boring. Makes Osiris' desire to save Saint mean a lot less. Of course he wants to save his partner. It's just a lot less noble. That's fine, but It's now only "special" because they are of the same gender. But no. We don't need a straight character quota.

This is something that has been done well with some characters, but mostly terribly with the rest. The good example of this is Eriana-3 and Wei Ning. Met at a bar, had a good time, fell in love, had their relationship fully fleshed out and then the big plot point dropped, in the shape of Crota and the moon. Other characters completely diverge from that by having the big plot point FIRST, THEN throwing sexuality into it. Namely, Saint-14 and Osiris, then Ana Bray to a lesser degree. Saint and Osiris were separated like, YEARS. That’s not healthy for a relationship, and Osiris was then inadvertently responsible for Saint’s death. That would put a strain even on a friendship, but I think it would push a romance to the breaking point. So for them to go all through that then continue on about their relationship just kinda sidelines the player as you would expect much more... drama. And as for Ana Bray, that just felt like pandering. Middle of an important plot development and then wham, here’s a panel of Ana Bray sucking face with [REDACTED]. You gotta give SOME kind of background or development there. And lastly there’s the issue that it can be something of a shocker to assume that X character is straight, might even have something going on with X other character, only to have your canon more or less decimated by a surprise reveal that hah, they’re gay. Just take all that theorizing and throw it out the bloody window.

4 답변Reading through these comments I guess 100% of games should have 0% sexual orientation then, huh? All video game characters should be androgynous, A-sexual individuals with zero traits. Not even a voice. Like the ****ing 80’s and early 90s. Then everyone can imprint whatever they want on a character or nothing at all. Geese, people say they don’t care, yet clearly take the time to -blam!-. And what would your reaction be every time an LGBTQ person complained when video characters made any indication they were straight? Because video game characters have been, are, and will be straight to an overwhelming degree. There’s no risk of the every video game character suddenly being gay. The truth every individual person controls how they react. If you’re upset over it that’s a you problem. “It’s being thrown in your face” or what ever none sense. Yes, creators have to make a fictional character gay, because unlike the real world the character won’t be born gay and tell them they’re gay. And here you are, some of you “not caring” people that want to see more proof of straight characters in the game. But yeah, since Destiny isn’t a dating sim game, why should it bother anyone if every NPC is gay or not? It’s not like being straight would make their loot or bounties any better.

Maybe because pretty much every other form of media only basically has cishet characters and maybe one badly written gay character. The mainstream media may seemingly 'pander' to LGBT+ individuals and such... but usually its all an act and in the end nothing was accomplished or nothing changed. Cishet is still somehow considered the only norm and apparently the only 'right' thing when in fact that isn't true at all. Every sexuality is equal, and a game with a lot of lgbt+ characters isn't bad and since the game isn't about those topics then it shouldn't be an issue to just keep playing the game for the weapons and or plotline. I'm so sick of topics like this, especially since we all know if it were the other way around, it would be a different story. Let Bungie do what they want since it's THEIR GAME and THEIR CHARACTERS. Make your own game and story if you dislike it so strongly. Because I love actually seeing lgbt+ characters in media.

4 답변작성자: Bamsmacked 12/1/2020 4:14:28 AMI honestly don't care about genders and sexual orientation in video games just as long as it's organic and not forced, sometimes when companies go overboard and it comes off like this "Hey, we're REALLY INCLUSIVE. See??? *Wink* *Wink*". One of the first instances of inclusivity in video games that I can really remember is Dragon Age 2 where they literally forced two homosexual relationships down your throat the first being from the mage Sebastian and if you turn it down he literally stomps his feet gets ticked off and basically gets ready to leave the party. The chat options didn't give you any sort of neutral or platonic paths, it was either Love me or Hate me options. So yeah.. That was cringe worthy. If it's naturally occurring and organic within the story it's great, but like the example I used with DA2 that's a no go.
