IMO Stasis should not be part of PvP. It is wielding darkness against light bearers, ie our own allies and friends. Stasis is great on all classes for PvE, but it should NEVER be a part of PvP. The lack of content is bad enough with sunsetting. Players use PvP as a "fill in", but Stasis has ruined the entire ideological, mechanical and gunplay dynamic D2 is famous for. Spamming grenade after melee after grenade etc....No fun Cozmo.
I've been with you since D1 and this direction for PvP is IMO the worst decision for PvP Bungie has ever taken. I am basing this on both the pre-nerf and post-nerf Crucible matches. Please note that this is my frank and honest feeling after returning to PvP after 2 weeks. My thoughts after being stasis spawn trapped in Zone A dead cliffs for the 3rd game running is :"Nah. No more even after the nerf! Screw Trials, all Crucible and Iron Banner if Stasis is allowed."
Even in PvE, I have tried to like it using all 3 characters because I HAVE TO for progression. The experience was nothing short of frustrating, underwhelming and just plain LOUSY as a whole. I play all 3 characters and have tried to like it, but....my frank and honest opinion is that Stasis is just not me. ATM, I absolutely HATE using it on all characters. It is a something I cannot see myself using ever again in D2. If the game requires me to do so, then I simply cannot play.
Sincerely, FireSupport72.
PS : Using the weapon which is the antithesis of our characters against anyone other than the enemy is a violation of ourselves. I don't know what Loremasters have to say about this, but it feels sickeningly and morally incorrect in my mind. Fiction or fact, this Stasis in PvP against our friends is wrong IMO.

Canonically the crucible is a training ground for guardians to hone their skills. It only makes sense to be used in pvp if you really care about the lore aspect of it. Your guardian is using it as practice against the minions of the darkness. We dont fully know what exactly the darkness is, or if it is even the reason we have stasis. We know the pyramids are affiliated with the darkness, but we do not know that the pyramids are the actual darkness. In the same way, I think stasis is affiliated with the darkness, but is not the darkness itself. Comparable how the arc, solar, and void subclasses are parts of the light, but not the light itself. I have only written 3 research papers on destiny at this time. As for the story, if you paid attention you would know theres a really good reason that we allowed ourselves to use stasis. Fits fine with me. You also mentioned that its been the first time in 2 weeks that you played pvp. If you dont like stasis because of story reasons and refuse to use it... well that sucks to be you. I was not fond of auto rifles, but last season they were meta, and so i picked a couple up anyway. Stasis is a new meta, and if you refuse to adapt, you'll have much less fun playing. My advice, if you dont like the state of pvp, dont play it. PvP isnt mandatory, so just play what you wanna play.

Thanks for the advice mate. But it really doesn't suck to me LOL! I have a blast online with my buddies, hand I have been paying attention ! It is an ability to use AGAINST ENEMIES OF THE LIGHT. That is what I am struggling with....why are my fellow Guardians fighting against me in with Darkness? Why are you saying that PvP isn't mandatory? Please have a look at the Wrathborn hunt bounties, the Duality catalyst, the weekly or monthly pinnacles etc. ALL involve PvP to get loot & rewards. There is no escaping it. Please publish a list of how I can avoid PvP and still get exotic catalyts/weapons/rewards etc, as well as Triumphs, seals, Emblems etc etc. This would make a great education for the rest of the community if they were unaware that these alternatives exist! Thanks for your input!

작성자: Aech0s 11/21/2020 7:30:58 AMYou know what, youre right, i forgot those catalysts and stuff existed. My point in saying pvp isnt mandatory is that you dont have to rely on pvp to get endgame content. That can be done through strikes and raids. Yes, there are things like the duality catalyst where you need kills with the gun, but its not so outrageous such as go 50-0 with the duality without weapon swapping. It can be done over the course of 50 games if you choose. Also it is never stated that stasis is only to be used against the darkness. As i said, crucible is a training ground. Hone those new abilities to be used against the darkness by using them on enemies that are stronger than the darkness. Minions of the darkness have been using it against us for many years now, why cant we use it against ourselves to practice? Bottom line, im trying to give you a reason that using stasis is ok according to the lore. If YOU decide you dont like using it, dont use it. You’ll be limiting yourself to 75% of each guardians subclasses and missing a lot of fun gameplay but if thats ok with you, nobodys stopping you.

Hey there mate! Really respect your comments and appreciate taking the time to respond! Cheers for that! In a nutshell, I am an old timer (well as far as gamers go) and have a this ingrained philosophy that drew me towards Destiny in 2014. Light Vs Dark. I grew up with Star Trek and Star Wars, and Battlestar Galactica (1978) .... you see where my head for Sci-Fi is at (I hope). As far as I've been educated in Destiny, it has ALWAYS been Light Vs Dark. And having to enjoy an overall character progression where I have to do PvP chores to make my end game more meaningful this way is well, difficult and UNFUN and against my old man's DNA. In the Forces, when we were limited with what we had, we made our own fun. Thank you for reminding me that I will not be the greatest Guardian in D2, but the greatest I can be! Cheers from my whole bunch of nuts here in Oz matey! Enjoy your BL experience!
