This is a problem I haven't encountered since moving from Battle.net to steam, but upon installing Beyond Light, I am running into a persistent hard crash of my entire PC while attempting to play Destiny 2.
This crashing is universal; it happens on the main game screen, the character select screen, in the tower, in the tower speaking with NPC's, in menus, while traversing between zones and/or planets, while participating in strikes/raids/cruicible/story missions, while in black screens, during loading, during not-loading, while the game is totally idle, while looking at inventory, while looking at Steam's web browser, etc. This is not an exhaustive list, suffice to say, it happens LITERALLY anywhere at ANY time while Destiny 2 is running.
So far, it appears if I load into the Tower, and leave my PC alone without interacting with the game or giving inputs at all, the program will run for over an hour at least. As soon actual gameplay happens, or i begin doing any sort of nominal activity within the tower, crashes are eminent.
They may happen within 2 minutes of starting Destiny 2, sometimes after 45 minutes of play.
This has rendered almost ANY playing of Destiny 2 utterly and totally impossible, to say the least.
I received zero official support from Bungie on this issue before transfering off Battle.net, which appeared to predominantly solve the persistent crashes issue. Nearly 700 hours of playing Shadowkeep and I was not dealing with crashes more than rare occassional inconveninces.
Upon installing Beyond Light and booting Destiny 2, persistent crashes returned in full force.
I am not encountering any frame rate drops, cinematics appear to run smoothly, none of my graphics settings have changed.
I have already disabled full screen optimisations, disabled the shader cache and emptied the shader cache folder, and verified all the game files multiple times. Reinstalling has not been attempted yet, but as all the game files are properly verified it would be redundant and was in past efforts, reinstalling had no effect.
I have also made certain to periodically check the nvidia drivers for updates, and have installed all the most up-to-date drivers for my graphics card, and continue to check for updates periodically.
I have run out of solutions. I cannot play the game i just paid money for, on a PC system that is quite capable of running the software. Please advise!!!
Same thing happened to me on my PlayStation. Cut scene glitching , getting kicked in the middle of a strike, background music is glitching , taking a long time to load. I rebuilt my database twice and deleted and reinstalled the game but every time I attempt to play it , it crashes my whole system. I have not been able to play a decent game yet.
