Why not pvp and pve seperate sand boxes

I know its been talked about before but i just wanted to discuss it again really. its super frustrating enjoying something in pve and then its ruined cause its too good in pvp. for example gnawing. not saying the change will do anything at all but its just fine in pve and hope the nerf doesnt ruin it. i know its a ton of work but i hope they can do it in the future would make the game so much better

What specifically are you wanting?

        Maybe bungie should return your gnawing hunger back to pre-buff, a buff that was mostly to bring the gun up in pvp in the first place. Dude, you're insane. Weapons do not solely get nerfed or even buff due to pvp. That's a pipe dream if you think so. Maybe you are new to destiny but bungie will bring up and down weapons types regardless. It's what the like to do to shift our loadouts to see weapons usage change. Or they bring a shiny new gun out and let it rain hell for a while and then get a nerf. Or rarely launch under delivering and get a buff later. Either way they eventually bring a weapon back into normalness. Deal with it. If you dont like nerfs then you need to stop playing live service multiplayer games.

      • Because then it wouldn't be Destiny. There are things they could do for sure lots of them but The nature of the game is to have your favorite weapon to always be the same no matter where you are using it and I can understand that. My dream was to make a playlist of competitive type in which you could equip nothing but Blue Gear. Still Destiny but you know there will be nothing wild. It would also have people really considering that blue gear they just delete.

      • Their current model is highly profitable - even with the lacking servers setup. aamof; reducing dataset redundancy, like having pve and pvp coding overlap as much as possible, makes them even more money. The last thing they want to do is create more data transfer upon a major dlc release. And they're quite proud of their inferior Shared servers setup. The best thing that can happen, and you can promote, is the sale of the ip to a major server/coding/marketing concern. But last time I looked; both Microsoft and Google passed on dealing with Bungie ownership. He's probably asking far too much money. Go figure.

        • They don't have the resources for something like that. Sandbox changes now are too far and few between, imagine if they split it you would be lucky to get a balance pass once per year. A more suitable option (imo) would be to have pve/pvp specific weapon mods and limit them to their associated activities. Raid exotics, and legendaries buffed for the raids but balanced for other activities. Nightfall specific weapons and mods that buff for nightfalls and strike playlists Crucible weapons with mods effective in crucible and trials weapons with competitive playlist only buffs. They have dabbled with this already with set perks on things like iron banner weapons and raid weapons but I feel making them removable mods instead of set ones to be better as it still would allow weapons to be modded with generic mods for the non specific content.

          One of the things that makes D2 different, is the interplay between PVE and PVP. Braving that dungeon or raid, in search of cool weapons to craft a personalized PVP load out is key to Destiny’s DNA. The reason it’s never worked properly is because Bungie, knowing how monumental balancing an environment such as this truly is, refuses to implement creative solutions. Instead, they fall back on nerfs and buffs, inevitably leading to blatantly obvious seasonal metas that last far to long. This is one of the things that contributes to the ever present toxicity in this community. PVP players want variety, as well they should. It’s absolutely ridiculous that only a handful of weapons are viable in a game, with so many weapons that ask for copious amounts of game time to obtain. PVE players get upset because their loadouts are impacted negatively by PVP sandbox demands. Solution: Bungie needs to release crucible specific armor that is FULLY able to make use of transmogrification. This armor will contain all of the stats needed to balance out any issues with weapons independent from their function in PVE. See WOW battleground armor for an example of this in a practical setting. What about new players who don’t have said PVP armor you ask? Bungie desperately needs to enhance the new player experience by adding a COD style Mercenary playlist that provides locked access for new players, giving them a reasonable time to put together a set of PVP armor.

          • Because they are trying to do something that simply cannot be done. Other games have come close but there is always some sort of tweaking that needs to be done. Until they accept it, we will just keep getting things nerfed because something works really well in 1 sandbox over the other.

          • Bungie’s thing is to keep them together. It has its pros and cons. I think it has more cons but they are determined to keep them together for whatever reason.

            They do have separate sand boxes. What are u talking about? A rocket can hit for 2000+ damage in pve. Do u think that happens in pvp?

            This was touched on in 2017, with the launch of Destiny 2. Bungie said they wanted to do the opposite of Destiny 1 and have PVP and PVE pretty much the same weapons and damage from said weapons. They said it's cause it is "too confusing" and a poor player experience to have PVE and PVP different weapons gameplay. They said that they felt it was not good to the newbies to have so many weapons and all different types of stuff to remember for PVE and seperately PVP so Bungie commited to Destiny 2 having both game types same weapons gameplays. Destiny 1 was a mess towards the end cause Bungie made so many changes to specific weapons, and also seperately to entire archetypes, that it came a point where your pulse rifle was the most powerful thing in Crucible, yet somehow the weakest thing in PVE, and yet other pulse rifles with the EXACT same stats are completely different dps somehow. They couldn't keep up with weapon chnaging/balancing cause they got so fuqin lost making so many different changes and losing track of what is what. Now they just streamline PVE and PVP to be somewhat the same, and when they do nerfs now they purposely make sure the ratios match for each type of gameplay. It's laziness they set themselves up to be able to be. But they are also so very incompetent so it isn't a surprise they can't handle multiple changes at once. They need to have a simplified process cause otherwise, they fuq it up, cause they are Bungie and fuqin up is their specialty.
