I thought he was closely related to a Warlock, but never been sure. His attire matches that of a Warlock. Since he is a rogue lightbearer, I'm not sure if he was ever technically a Guardian. (I read lore, but I don't remember shit!)

The idea of Classes wasn’t created until a couple centuries after the first Risen were revived and are just a system of organization for the Guardians of the City, based on disciplines and goals. The Drifter doesn’t follow the “dogma” of the City and doesn’t classify himself like the City’s Guardians do.

He was reborn before lightbarers were classified as what we know today. Also, technically, classes don’t exist. We are all lightbarers, we just use the light in different ways but it’s still the same power, just used differently. For example: Hunters are agile and precise so they adapt their light to that fighting style, but I’m pretty sure that a Hunter can summon a Nova Bomb if they try to, It just might not be a good one because it doesn’t fit with the Hunter’s personality and fighting style.

2 답변I think it was mentioned in the lore somewhere that he wasn't any class of Guardian, per say. I think when people were being brought back by the light in Drifter's time, they were "Risen" and not guardians yet. During the Dark Ages, Guardians, and by extension, the "classes", weren't as established a concept back then. He's never really been a Guardian, thus he was never any of the three classes. I think that's the best I can provide. Haha I know that probably wasn't really the answer you were looking for, but that's my lore two cents.
