Felwinter’s Lie represents everything wrong with FOMO and seasons
Imagine if after that weekend Xur sold Prometheus Lens that it disappeared from all loot pools and would never be in Xur’s inventory again. Now imagine they never nerfed it, that’s Felwinter’s Lie in a nutshell.
Any gear that outclasses everything else by such a huge margin simply proves how weak and boring a majority of the loot pool is by comparison. Name one shotgun as good as Felwinter, or one grenade launcher as good as mountaintop, or one sword as good as guillotine.

Destiny is not a competitive game. It’s a fomo collector solo FPS with pseudo rpg elements and some multi player activities, supported by a calendar of meta weapons and gear. That said, I know that I can’t blame the weapon for the kill, I can only agree that it made the kill easier. Blaming a weapon is rejecting reality. If anything stuff like knockout, oppressive darkness, solar plexus, and charge with light related mods are excessive and should be disabled in pvp. Just like heavies spawning all the time.

1 답변IDK...I have a first-in-last-out with almost max range, hipfire, and openingshot...it most definitely competes in the same league as felwinter. Limited release weapons are fine...but if they're gonna be extremely potent, the quest needs to be much more difficult than what FWL quest was.

1 답변The smoking barrel of my Chaperone (and let's face it, that whip crack after reloading is just...you know...) is far more satisfying than any pellet gun in the game. FOMO only works if you let it affect you. Look past Felwinter's [b]LIE[/b] my friend.

It doesn't outclass everything. Astral, Mindbenders, Seventh Seraph CQC, hell even Prohpet of Doom all compete with it very well. It's only prevalent cause a) it was an easy quest after they fixed the damn door and b) nostalgia is a powerful thing.

6 답변The Lens was broken the shotgun is just really good. You can easily get a CQC with more range. It was probably one of the quickest no effort quests for a weapon. 🤷🏻♂️

Not the best example of fomo. Felwinter’s lie is the shotgun Bungie put in the hands of players that didn’t want to grind for a well rolled shotgun. I used my snapshot quickdraw mind bender’s over it every time and even after sunset I’m sure there’ll be plenty of other energy shotguns more consistent than Felwinter’s.

Its extremely inconsistent and you can easily find other shotguns that compete very nicely. I never use it. I use the Serph shotgun or a mx range Dust Rock. Both feel way better than Felwinters. Don't believe the hype.

Mindbenders or the season pass Shotgun from last season handle better and work just as well. Mtn Top and Dark Drinker are unique in their own aspect, so it's unfair to compare them to the 7 other special GLs or the 4 other unique sword models. Felwinter's will almost definitely come back, as Bungo mentions all seasonal lore will become available to earn after a few seasons, and you need the shotgun to get the lore associated with it
