This week I decided to play IB on all 3 characters and to really work on getting better despite being a weaker player. Just fo info I am in the top 3% for kills in the crucible so I am not a newb complaining. What I am is an older player with slower reactions and poor eyesight. I have got gud and I am getting better (slowly), but my gud is not going to be as good as your gud in most cases.
I've played 85 games of Iron Banner this week and still have one pinnacle to get. Frankly the experience has been awful. The consistent problem is that in every single match (with 1 exception) I have been overmatched and getting stomped on. But worse in the majority of matches there were alot of other players having the same experience or an even worse experience. This can't be good for the game.
There are 2 very simple solutions to this problem. Both will not have negative effects on high tier players.
1) Allow a guardian to choose their matchmaking algorithm. Have a toggle in settings that allows you to switch between sbmm and cbmm. Your choice determines which algorithm Bungie uses when matching you.
2) As an alternative have a single mixed mode matchmaking algorithm. This mode uses your skill to determine the amount of sbmm and cbmm to put into your matchmaking algorithm. If you are high skilled it will use cbmm. If you are low skilled it will use SBMM
Implementing either of these solutions should be relatively simple (I'm a software developer so I have some idea of what I am talking about). Bungie already has decent sbmm and cbmm algorithms, its just a case of applying what they have with a little intelligence.

Unfortunately Bungie doesn't reply to the community at large in the main only to named game-promoters on Twitter. They won't reply, they never do. Indeed what got then to ridiculously remove their own skillbased matching was a small bunch of highly influential streamers utterly unrepresentative of the community.

simple fact is people wanna have fun but bungies gonna choose to keep streamers and high skilled players happy and rest of players just gonna have to deal. Giving people a choice would make the game better then forcing lower skilled players into piss poor matches. Pvp needs a overhaul all around but it's never gonna happen

1 답변Iron banner is an objective based game mode. It's not all about "look at how many kills I have" Too many players just avoid the objectives and wonder why they keep losing.

4 답변What I think needs to happen: - Put Iron banner into the DCV - Remove the token system - Put good drop rates into the rewards for completing matches (And extra drop for winning) - Have Lord Saladin sell direct base versions of his gear for collections purposes. (Can be unlocked via a system like finishing said amount of games.) Even if it is a good Band Aid know as freelance, it is still just that. Iron banner needs a bigger overhaul and the DCV looks like the proper place to do it.

Foundational matchmaking changes like this will never happen. Bungie refuses to even address their team balancing algorithm that’s plagued the game since launch. They’d rather keep adding Freelance modes as a band-aid fix.

Matchmaking isn’t why Iron Banner isn’t much fun. We’ve had both CBMM and SBMM for Iron Banner. Both have high mercy rates and both get constant complaints about them. I have yet to see an Iron Banner where someone doesn’t post “This is the worst Iron Banner yet”.

So then it will only be average players and good players in cbmm. Then the average players are the bad players in comparison to the good players. So the average players leave and go to skill based matchmaking. Then it’s only good players in connection based matchmaking so it might as well be skill based at that point for us. 2) iron banner should reward good players it is endgame pvp after all. Why should any pvp mode actively hurt you for being a good player? The problem is if Good players are the only ones in cbmm it is essentially sbmm right? Then I’m stuck with trash connections and long queue times because I’m good? Why is that fair

1 답변What grind? There wasn't even a quest this time. Probably because of waaah waaahs smh

작성자: Haunter 9/14/2020 3:00:32 PMNo, both of your solutions cuts our pvp numbers in half. The only answer is for people to realize there are better players out there and theyll sometimes match vs them and that's ok If you are actually a "3%er" you should have no problem dealing with average players the majority of the time and certainly shouldnt constantly be outmatched by them

Neither of these are actual solutions for why IB is a grind fest for completion. The bounties blatantly punish you for other players existing which makes it a grind. They simply need to be balanced to not punish teamwork. For three of this week’s bounties you need to get final kills and of the 6 possible bounties 2/3 of them punish teamwork. It’s also why this IB feels worse than the last one, because 3/4 of the bounties punish teamwork. That and that you can play games and have none if your progress be counted.

5 답변I honestly don’t think their is a fix for this issue that will keep everyone happy. I personally feel cbmm is the better option for everyone out of them though. I enjoy IB as it’s a event that clan members join up and play together. non-pvpers also like to jump in for the loot as well. With sbmm it breaks the opportunity to play together. I’ve had it loads of times that clan members wouldn’t matchmake with me as I pulled the skill above theirs, and they would just prefer to play solo and have easier games. How is that good for the game when everyone in playing solo in a event like IB?. I do think some people need to adjust to the game instead of just blaming matchmaking. You can’t just do the same thing you do in sbmm vs higher skilled players and expect to get results. I’ve had it loads of times before in comp when I know I’m the weakest player in the match. I then stop pushing so hard and start team shooting at a safer distance, and let the stronger teammates carry.

Also don’t forget meaningful rewards that mean something Playing Iron Banner with the same mediocre weapons rewards is just bad. it’s straight garbage Today I got a weasel I thought my PlayStation was gone for good, I had to start up my playstion console 3x before it became normal.

Simple solution is to reward people who played the iron banner activity 12 boring times. What year is this ? Year 4 ? I’ve been playing Iron Banner every month for about 3-4 years. less than 30x Me thinks we should get the Gjallarhorn Saladin or Lord Salad has at least 50 of those things hanging around somewhere. Come on now, where is his lair ? Just hand the thing out already.

Top 3%. Not a noob yet after 85 matches you still haven't completed 12 bounties? For a below average player like myself it's a max of 15 games per character to complete bounties and any quest related to IB. Sorry but I fail to believe you. 85 matches?
