Nothing like getting an Ikelos SMG, applying Backup mag to be an annoying glide shooting Gnat, and seeing that it only gives you 3 additional rounds. This needs to change. All SMG's should actually receive a bigger magazine size increase from Backup mag than other weapons given that it's an aggressive weapons that requires nearly an entire clip to kill a Guardian or even regular enemies in general.
So yeah. Please look into this. Thanks in advance.

SMGs are a burst-damage weapon, not a sustained-damage weapon like an LMG. Burst damage weapons have a high fire rate, and do a lot of damage in a short period of time. They are typically balanced by limiting their ammo and requiring frequent reloads. Sustained damage weapons have large magazines and can deliver a lot of damage over time because of it. They are typically balanced by limiting their per-bullet damage and fire rate....and therefore their burst damage. So SMGs have limited magazine’s to keep them from being overpowered. LMGs have slower fire rates and had their damage nerfed in the name of balance...though Bungie went to far with LMGs.

1 답변작성자: Darth Lunchbox 7/29/2020 7:49:16 PMBackup mag is just useless, it doesn't give you enough extra ammo to actually be useful in most situations or weapons. It doesn't even work on my Austringer...

8 답변Smgs in general are kind of a joke anyway. Why use an smg over an AR when ARs get more ammo, have more range, more damage, and the ones you see in PVP either shoot just as fast or make up for it in damage? Doesn't help the effective range of an smg (also taking recoil into account) is within shotgun rushing distance. The only really good or decent smgs are Recluse, Ikelos, and maybe Antiope still, but unless you're combining them with something like a bow or Mountaintop, you're better off with almost any AR. Heck, the buff to ARs last season has even made a lot of people want the Recluse nerf to be reverted (or at least questioned if it would be a bad thing) because of the optimal ttks of 600 rpm ARs and Suros. Simple solutions to make smgs good again: Increase range to match most 150 or close ranged 180 HCs. Increase stability. Increase either head shot or body damage. Increase outgoing flinch.

4 답변SMG's need to have more reserve ammo in PvP. Or white bricks need to drop as standard. Was using the ikelos SMG 2.0 today and kept running out of ammo.

1 답변작성자: Swiftlock 7/28/2020 8:53:50 PMIn PvE, I still wouldn't even bother with backup mod even if it gave more rounds. Champ mods are king here. Minor spec when champs aren't a consistent threat. Major spec for certain high-level activities like Prophecy. In PvP, Icarus Grip all day. Jumping backwards to get out of the way of a mindless shotgun rusher and spraying them down from above with more accurate shots will save you way more than a slightly bigger mag ever will.

1 답변If I may interject, I've noticed that mod scales to the clip of the weapon for auto/pulse/smg. A smaller clip will net you more bonus rounds with backup mag. Also weapons aren't really balanced at all so I'd throw that out the window. Just get you a Misfit and throw Backup Mag on it and spray to your heart's content.

1 답변And here I was, thinking how fun a gamemode with barely any ammo would be. Clearly people wouldn’t be able to handle it.
