"as high," but I get that it's something you'd overlook. Reading is a government overstep after all, forcing us to ingest their leftist propaganda. Disgusting.
This has nothing to do with giving up your prized gun collection, or your 2 MpG truck, this is putting a piece of fabric on your face. You saying "no, I don't wanna" is the equivalent of a toddler not wanting to put his shirt on in the morning.

The examples I gave boil down to the same argument, people trying to force you to fall in line with what they believe. See the difference in me and you is I believe everyone should do as they feel best. You want people to mask up to make yourself feel better. Forcing people to wear them, calling them selfish or whatever for not falling in line, is a damn joke. Trying to compare wearing a mask to reading is the biggest stretch I've ever heard. You actually need to read since it's the basis of any form of communication, deals, identification ect for you to be a member of society. A mask offers no real value other than to placate panicky Polly's.

I'd try to tell you about the actual scientific aspect of wearing a mask, but based on your logic, I'm going to guess you're anti-vax as well, and science that doesn't come from Facebook scares you. And I know reading is a hyperbolized example, and that was the point. It's a minor inconvenience to learn, that does nothing but help society. Masks are not political. They just help prevent the spread of disease, Covid or not.

I've got two science degrees bud. Science doesn't scare me, but apparently it scares you. The "experts" have been back and forth on the effectiveness. If you're not on the front lines, not dealing with high risk people, the effects are negligible. And if you think learning to read is an inconvenience, then maybe you need to stay out of bigger discussions lmao. Only point I'm trying to make here is if YOU are scared, then YOU mask up. YOU don't have the authority to FORCE ME to buy into your BS.

I was putting it in childish terms, considering it feels like I'm talking to a child. A child would find reading an inconvenience, a child would refuse to wear their mask. "No dad, I won't wear my shirt just because YOU want me to! You can't make me!"
