I don't think I will buy the new DLC after hearing about this. I don't like changing weapons, I have ones that I like and I like them for a reason. Take that exotic grenade launcher that uses primary ammo for example, I cant even get its catalyst done because its so hard for me to actually hit the enemies with it because unless its a direct hit then the grenade just bounces past them, and using its controlled explosion mode is almost useless as well because I cant see where the grenade is to tell when it is beside the enemy. I do NOT want to have to learn new weapons constantly, I want to use what I am comfortable with. If you add a new weapon I will try it out, if I like it I will use it, if I don't then I will keep using the weapons I have currently... Like Graviton Lance is my favorite weapon, if you put a power cap on it then I won't bother playing anymore because it's pointless when your favorite weapon only works in the open world areas, and not even in public events because many of those have power requirements too...

People have been making prophetic posts about the future state of Destiny, countless times since it released. "If Bungie doesn't fix/add X they're going to lose all their players." "People will quit if Bungie does X." Listen, I get there are things that people aren't fond of. Psychologically humans can sometimes be adverse to change because it's outside what they're comfortable with or used to. And familiarity is usually the preferred condition [i]especially[/i] when it comes to a beloved hobby. But people don't usually realize that's why they don't like the change and they equate their discontent with some false perception of a likelihood that the game will preform poorly. When in actuality those feelinge are the result of the fact that [i]they[/i] dont like having to adapt their playstyle or have their game altered or have to adjust to new tools in the sandbox. The reality is a game like this will always lose a few players here and there but it will - for the foreseeable future - maintain a massive playerbase with new players showing up on the regular. Destiny is fun, and it does combat extremely well. The way stories have been told has also immensely improved since D1. The game has something for everyone. It's a great social conduit as well. These are some of the reasons its been able to survive the odd development hiccup here and there. The only downside is that frequent changes are made to mechanics and designs which some people may not be too fond of, and that's ok. Not everyone can be pleased 100% of the time, but most changes I feel are worth giving a chance and if they're not your cup of tea - that's okay! But countless others will continue to enjoy and sip on their tea, content with the quality, consistency and flavour. [b][i]*Sips tea*[/i][/b]

I don't think it will have a worth mentioning impact on the player numbers. I also bet most of the loud whiners here who say they're gonna quit won't quit. I'm against sunsetting too, but this is definitely nothing that could make me quit. I will still love this game.

No it won't, I've been happily deleting masterworked weapons with thousands of kills on them. It's only pixels, it's fine.

Bungie did somthing very similar to this in D1...and people still played the game when gear wasnt brought up to year 3. People will get over it in time.

Nope, too many [i]addicted[/i] idiots who literally just accept anything Bungie does. Hysterically, they'll say how they hate actions from Bungie and aren't happy when they play, by then like the sheep they are follow-up by pre-ordering. It shows, not how they "love" the game, but it's an addiction they can't quit.

You are right though. I canceled my pre-order for September and pre-ordered a couple of single players games.

I'm not the biggest fan of sun setting, but I certainly won't quit bc of it unless they completely fudge it up. Yes, i'm frustrated some of my favorite weapons that I wont be able to use any longer in end game content and that I've spent a significant amount of time acquiring , but EOD if they do sunsetting right it could spice up the game abit, however they could also make the game extremely tiresome and frustrating... so, It could go either way.

People moaning about sunsetting are obviously new light players because this happened loads in destiny 1 trust me it's not a bad thing. This helps to keep the meta for weapons on a constant flow and keep changing. Most of the weapons you use constantly are used in PvP and won't be affected. Using new and different weapons will give more of a challenge and different approach to how you face things in pve

Our clans had a lot of preorders cancelled yesterday. We asked members to go check their vaults and see how many items would be useful in the next DLC. About 90% of everything in the vault is getting tossed. So unless you are grinding this season to get ready for next season? You are crap out of luck. Having veteran players all be at newlight player levels seems dirty and cheap. All those items are just wasted time playing a game that can't figure out the most basic idea of what it wants to be. The way it looks now, Destiny is just a mindless shooter with no real direction or story going on. Just tiny bits and pieces of lore scrapped together to push a plot that goes nowhere. At this point, disappointment is the best word for how I feel about the franchises decisions going forward.
