Please Bungie, check the stats on the amount of mercies that are happening right now in IB. Just a hunch, but I think it might be an indication of how the removal of SBMM is impacting the average PVP player. I just finished playing 15 matches. 6 or 7 of them were ended by the mercy rule.
Bungie, I have a question:
Where do the average skill PVP players fit in this new landscape without SBMM? Where do we go to PVP other players at our skill level? Right now, the answer is we don't fit and there is no experience for us in PVP other than being fodder for folks waaaaay above our skill level. Trials, Survival, Elimination - competitive playlists all utterly dominated by high skill players. The only place we could compete was in the non-competitive playlists with SBMM. And over everyone else, high skill players can attest to the fact that the one thing that matters most in PVP is that the player feels like they can compete.
I think most of us "casuals" understand and accept that Trials isn't for us, and that we can't compete in the upper tier of Survival and Elimination (still have SBMM enabled) - we're average skill players. Of course we don't get to compete with the highly skilled players - they the best, we the rest. So why is it hard for seemingly you, Bungie, and the some of the sweats to understand that casuals deserve to be able to compete in PVP?
Please revert the decision to remove SBMM from non-competitive playlists.

Why does everyone making these posts think CBMM = top tier vs everyone else? You might get a few really good players in your matches every now and then but the reality is a large majority of players are average, meaning a large majority of people you're matching against are average...

It's team balancing that's the issue... A team of decent players will stomp a team with one elite player with the rest of his team trash. Many of the games I've been in were the mercy role came into play had one player with a KDA of like 4.0 and the rest had like 0.3 - 0.8 KDA. Many are now just starting to see how bad balancing really is since the same rules for it are being used, but now it's not pulling players from similar skill level, and the ones it is pulling from vary to a greater degree. If team balancing could be tweaked slightly things would be better. I just don't think that it's quite possible with the dated tools Bungie has atm.

The only good thing on the new MM is the reduced wait time. Played 6 Matches IB half or them were mercy matches. Even two wins. In three of that games I had less than 5 kills ( in one even 0 ) . In the last 5 years I managed to keep my kd between 1.4 and 1.5 but now it's under 1. I know that I am just average but how you want average people to have fun or play pvp matches when they just be used to wipe the floor with them. No wonder that the player numbers in pvp decreased to a all time low level.

I play everyday, so I'm hardly casual - I have a mental disability that forces me to like punishment - Destiny is ideal for me because I get wrecked all day, every day and I love it! It's perfect! Join-in-progress gets me so much faster too. You never join the winning team, so you can guarantee a good time, I no longer have to go see Madeline!
