So you like using the same weapons for years and having no incentive to grind for new ones and try new things in an mmo that should encourage trying new guns, builds, abilities, looks, etc? Yikes. You should go play something else then Mr mtn top recluse. It's almost like sunsetting is helping the overall health of the game entirely because of power creep, but you don't care mtn top and recluse were your pinnacles you grinded for and you want nothing else ever in a loot based game ever. Screw variety you know? Screw trying for looking for new reasons to grind a grindy game?

I completely stoped playing after the Sunsetting announcement.

I said it before and I'll say it again: sunsetting is Bungie implementing a rotating list of weapons and armor, but instead of allowing us to choose to use them, they're forcing us to use them. Bungie has displayed almost through the entirety of Destiny 2 that they hate player agency and have done everything they can to give us a thinly-veiled illusion of choice while making it painfully obvious we don't [i]really[/i] have a choice.

Don't get me wrong when my weapons are sun set I'm out until bungie gives up on Sun setting.

Agreed, have lost all motivation to play. It’s a shame, how bout y’all make better weapons so we’re forced to move on from our favorite load outs?

I feel like in 6-9 months we’re gonna get a video release where Bungie sits down and talks about an upcoming season with one of the creative directors admitting they’ve made some mistakes (ie. “and this was our bad guys.”) but they’ve taken a lot of feedback and they believe they should have some positive changes coming along very soon. Let’s avoid all that and just skip sunsetting. I’d be willing to wait a little longer for Beyond Light if it means there will be no sunsetting.

Everything about sunsetting just screams to me that Luke Smith is having a temper tantrum that players aren't shelving their loadouts every season. I personally enjoy the seasonal content idea of an evolving storyline, abd accept that it will have it's ups (Season of Dawn) and downs (Season of the Worthy). Arrivals I think would be good, but sunsetting is just sucking all the joy from me. Why should I bother chasing a good Tempest Hook? Luke Smith doesn't want me using it for to long, and he'll just make content that I can't play to force me not to. Tired of Bungo trying to tell me what kind of Legend I should be

The game is dead and they need a way to make you invest more time. They can't do that with content , because they suck at that also. Plus the Destiny community is so laughably stupid, Bungie can do whatever they want. Play like me,1-2 months a year and just have fun seeing the hardcore players suffering for a game that has been broken since launch and wasn't ever even close of beeing balanced or fixed. But hey, you get 1 New Armor set that looks like shit and 5 new weapons of which 4 are garbage every 3 months plus you get to farm the same weapons and armor over and over again, just because. The Bungie way - The cancer way.

Why hold on to the same thing for all these years, season after season? That would remove any incentive in playing the game in the future if all my old stuff is all I ever cared to play with, why ever have new stuff? Also, the idea behind the newer gear is to get better, stronger, fresher look. Would you always want to wear the same clothes day in and day out, season after season, year after year because you worked so hard to get those clothes and got them to fit just right? No! You go out and get fresh clothes, fresher shoes, change your underwear etc. and most people are excited about that. I'm sorry man, but having people stagnant in end game content using the same weapons every time just sounds like a game waiting to die. You're not opening your mind up to the feeling of getting something new the way you enjoyed these weapons/gear you're holding on to now. Also, dismantle that upgraded armor and you'll find that the materials that went into that upgrade are given back to you for the next piece of gear almost, if not, completely. Try it!

Just started the new Borderlands dlc, and so far I have gotten about 5 of the NEW weapons they introduced with the dlc, several of them are quite good. People who pre-order Beyond Light are going to get phuck all come September, im calling it now bringing back red death with a bag of member berries. People need to move on, this is a shitty mobile game that runs about as well as an old PS2 game. Quit giving these lazy stiffs you're money it only encourages them to stay lazy.

I’m on the fence somewhat at this moment in time, I feel burned out by the endless bounties just to get the needed items from Banshee in order to keep levelling up my armour and weapons, yet I’m looking forward to the next expansion, but there’s a nagging feeling that it’ll be a let down....it’s a strange place to be in with a game, one I’ve not found myself in before. Some would say to just walk away, but those people are likely not too invested and can do so with ease, as an early D1 player there’s been a lot of my time and effort put into the Destiny universe and it’s not so easy to let all of that go.

Sunsetting weapons is a positive thing and possibly the only thing bungie has done right in 3 years. If you feel like change is a bad thing then leave you certainly won't be missed

I've lost all incentive to play. While it's nice to chase new weapons and rolls it's not the sole purpose for me. I play Destiny because I love the game. Because I can bring my favorite weapons with me. Because I can find a set of armor w/ stats that suite me and bring them with me. With the seasonal model, especially [for me] with weapons, this has led to some changes because of the seasonal mods. Forcing me to use weapon types I normally wouldn't have. Even before this at any given day/season I have always carried at least 8 weapons on me in each slot. atm I believe it's Thorn, Blast Furnace [which I haven't even used since they nerfed Pulses however many seasons back], Outbreak Perfected, Buzzard, Randy's and old faithful Austringer in addition to The Spiteful Fang and Witherhoard because it's new. Heavy slot I carry 1k Voices, Xeno, Wardcliff, Truth, Wedigo, Fixed Odds, 21% Delirium & Hammerhead. That's just on my Warlock. My Titan and Hunter have a variety of weapons. Some of which I transfer over from time to time like Hush, Python, Riskrunner, Izanagi's, Ace of Spades, Suros, Monte Carlo, Exit Strategy, etc. Obviously a few on my Warlock get transferred over depending on what I'm doing as well. Loaded ? is my go to in Gambit and even in other activities at times. Like Recluse and so many other great weapons it's going the way of the do-do. Since Bungie seems to hate what they made will we even see Recluse, Loaded, Luna's, etc make a return? At this point I doubt it. I really have little desire to play the game I love anymore. I almost deleted D2 last week only to decide I might as well ride out the season. Or at the very least, ensure I get whatever exotics and story line there is. Reload times are atrocious. Kill Clip and Rampage have received two nerfs in less than one year now... As for this season. I'm upgrading my old armor for the most part. If I get something great I'll keep it but I'm not going out of my way. Weapons I'll obviously keep some good rolls I get on Gnawing Hunger, Lonesome, Bad Omens [even though rockets blow] and some others. However, sun-setting for me has given me zero incentive playing and is likely the reason I delete D2 after this season or maybe even before. They don't need to sunset to offer us new weapons to use. they don't need to make more powerful weapons to get us to use them. Just make them similar to or close enough to. power creep is BS as is this artificial grind for levels every dam season and now chasing old weapons and armor year over year. It's been almost 1 year and I'm still missing 2.0 exotics and/or can't get a reasonably decent roll on them. Speaking of armor 2.0 we can't even slot the same perks into armor we could roll with armor 1.0 and we have to slide seasonal/content related mods into those 10 points as well.... I absolutely love Destiny but I hope this blows up in Bungos face. It pisses me off to lose content I paid for but I could have overlooked that simply because I love the game and Europa is coming. Sun-setting on the other hand. I just can't accept that and continue down the road Bungie has planned. 2 cents.

So didn't they say they are sunsetting so they don't have to nerf everything again and all our favorite weapons will remain powerful.... But! Didn't they already mentioned they have plans to nerf somethings and some of those things are someone's favorite, funny how that works.

I only just now understand what sunsetting actually is and I've realised I hate it because the guns I like the "feel" of I won't be able to use anymore... instead I'll be FORCED to use newer weapons that I will probably not even like. I understand why they are doing this but surely there's a better way to do it that allows you to use the guns you enjoy using while giving you an incentive to have you use guns you don't usually use. I feel like there's no point masterworking anymore if I'm just gonna hav'ta use up my resources masterworking new stuff every few months. I don't exactly farm specific rolls or anything I just play with what I like the "feel" of and because of that I'm about to get screwed over. I do use guns that I don't usually use when I'm raising my light level but will avoid using guns that I don't like, so I'm not complaining specifically coz I can't get stuck in my ways with a non-changing loadout, I'm all for Bungie giving incentives to use new weapons, but I don't exactly like the idea of straight out punishing us for using the guns we wanna use. Bungie's gonna suck the fun out, and I feel like there's a lotta people who aren't complaining simply just because they either don't know or don't understand what's coming... like I didn't until today. Give it a year and the people who get a slap in the face will be in uproar, surely.

I'm in the same boat. The sunsetting announcement killed my motivation to play. I hopped in to check the new content, finished the quest, logged back out. It's a shame, this was my favorite game. I just don't have it in me to grind out the same gear over again. Definitely not paying for transmogs. I will probably be done after this season. No way am I preordering the next " expansion".

I've got no problem with sunsetting on the whole. Earning new items each season/year is part of the fun for me. I don't agree with items being brought back with the same rolls. That's lazy. I don't care if it's a 'fan favourite' or not. If we are to grind new items each year then they should be exactly that...new.

Definitely creates a shitty atmosphere in the game. I don't know why they have to take stuff away if they're just giving it back exactly the same with a different season mark. If they "need" to sunset recluse or revoker or whatever, fine. All the ordinary legendaries don't need to be caught up in that.

I love sun setting. It will shake up the stale meta and keep us needing and looking for new loot. Without it the game becomes a simple check list for items. One set of good master worked armour check. 3 primaries I like check. And so on for specials and heavies. Why would I bother getting new weapons if I don’t have to?

Instead of sunsetting ruining my incentive to play, it actually makes me play the game more. I have to grind out all these weapons so I have things to use in the new expansion. Sunsetting makes me play the game more than I want! But because I know Bungie always drops some pristine piece of content like a dungeon or raid (hopefully both) I mindlessly grind weapons like the Ikelos shotgun that I already have.
