If you actually understood what matchmaking was like in the higher skill levels you’d understand. How am I supposed to improve when half the lobby is teleporting? Or how am I supposed to work on my reaction time or gun skill when a guy doesn’t even pop up on my screen until he’s actually already in the lane and has taken a shot? You would have some standing if the game didn’t run on outdated peer 2 peer connections. Before with sbmm I’d be consistently matchmaking people across the world. I would regularly ask others in my lobby where they were from and not a single time was a guy in the same country as me. (Canada) how am I supposed to improve when I’m matchmaking a guy in Sweden because he’s the only player close to my skill level after a 10 plus minute q time? Like seriously I’ve had someone from China, U.S, Chilli, Canada Mexico, Spain and Australia all in the same game. Just think about that for a second. Still playing on peer to peer outdated tech from 10 years ago. How is one supposed to improve?

작성자: Wraith 6/17/2020 4:26:07 PMDedicated servers would help but they wouldn’t completely fix the issue. I don’t think you guys understand how much money dedicated servers cost. They need one for each zone. Ie; west cost servers and east cost servers. And that’s just for North America. Every game has a ranked playlist that has sbmm that usually only matches you based on the server you’re on as well as your skill and a non ranked playlist with cbmm and most of them have dedicated servers as well. And there’s still lag issues in the ranked playlists even with everything they have implemented. So no the issues isn’t just dedicated servers. Also q times wouldn’t be changed ether.

작성자: Krantzstone 6/17/2020 9:24:10 PMI'd argue that dedicated servers would fix a lot of the issues (unless you're on PC because dedicated servers can't fix client-side hacks, short of going streaming-only like Stadia) that you're experiencing. The cost issue is nonsensical: it's 2020 and there are many more global cloud computing services than there were when Destiny 2 launched, and Bungie made $300 million in digital sales in 2019, and in fact, Microsoft had been offering their Azure cloud computing platform to any and all developers of Xbox One games since 2013... for free. :P https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/e762gs/bungie_had_an_estimated_digital_revenue_of/ https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/sony-says-its-relationship-with-microsoft-is-deepening-following-cloud-tech-deal/ https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/06/19/xbox-head-explains-the-sony-microsoft-partnership And considering Microsoft and Sony recently signed a deal to work on multiplayer cloud gaming on the Azure platform together, I'm sure Bungie could easily have worked out a deal with both of them to have dedicated servers for both the Xbox and Playstation versions. https://www.gamesradar.com/microsoft-offers-free-dedicated-servers-all-xbox-one-titles/ And I still think the 'lag' you say you experienced under SBMM was actually just cheaters lagswitching... an issue that would be solved with dedicated servers only.
