In response to keeping the mechanic of sun-setting, I think it's fair to say that the upgrade cost for masterworking armor gear should be lowered, as well...At least we'll have that...I hope.
I came from 4k of gameplay hours of Warframe, and I've enjoyed D2 so far, but thinking about the armor costs with the implementation of the sun-setting system does seem very grindy.

I can get onboard with this. I only have one piece of masterworked exotic armor because of the steep cost. 3 shards = 300 cores. Plus all the prisms. Gunsmith bounties will take 25 days to get you 300 cores if you do the bounties on each character. 25 days. Wtf

Agreed. Bungie has been using that to prop up—-and divert attention away from—-this game’s dreadfully thin lootpool, and lack of end-game loot. So the end game becomes a pointless (pinnacle) power grind, and a material grind to masterwork armor. Bungie needs to replace that grind with actual loot.

I wouldn’t mind another source for ascendant shards... or maybe having a chance to get one back by breaking down masterworked armor. But here’s the deal... masterworked armor basically only nets you 10 stat points to each stat to help fill out builds (if you masterwork each piece... 5x2=10). The system now makes you engage with deciding what gear to max out. I ran a lot of level 9 gear until I found something that fit my idea. It’s doesn’t affect mods all that much. I tend to have mod slots empty on everything I wear even maxed stuff.

Definitely this. I’m not against sunsetting per se, without that there’s little incentive to chase anything once you have a set you like. But good god the cost to masterwork 4 pieces x 3 characters every 9-12 months? No effing way, that’s absurd.

5 답변Yeah it HAS to get more reasonable to masterwork everything. We could also make shards and prisms more abundant.

1 답변I think they should remove ascendant shards from the masterwork legendary armor requirement and reduce the amount of legendary shards to masterwork exotics

Agreed. If our gear is going to have limited usage then the time it takes to both acquire the right roll and fully upgrade it needs to be adjusted a LOT to compensate. It's important to maintain the balance of time invested in the game with the rewards earned.

작성자: Bore 5/18/2020 2:10:14 PMWhile I don’t see any benefit in capping armor like capping weapons, it is only one new armor set a year. Your armor will last a year from when you got it, so you only need to masterwork one per year. Masterworking armor isn’t even that expensive.

This proposal only meant to make the grind easier but wouldn't eliminate the pointless unnecessary grind in the first place. You have prepared for your driver's license exam. You pass it. You drive your car three months. Also you had worked hard for the money allowing you to buy that brand new car you always wanted. Current state In three months the admission office tells you your driver's license became invalid. You need to pass the exam again. You learn again for the exam and pass it. Luckily you are driving your - now 3 months old - car still. A bit tedious, but you need to follow this same process every three months. Future state In three months the admission office tells you your driver's license became invalid. You need to pass the exam again. You learn again for the exam and pass it. They tell you your current car does not meet current permission criteria anymore. But you are allowed to drive your car in your private property, driving in circles on your parking space or in your garden. If you liked to drive on the street, well please earn a new car then admission office will happily grant you a new goods vehicle test certificate. ... Rinse and repeat.

1 답변I was already on the fence regarding the value of armor masterworking when I finished the armor on my Warlock. Felt more relief that the grind was over for him rather than the significant achievement the developers wanted it to feel like. I fully regret wasting the time and materials on it now though. Because my Warlock's armor is almost all Undying Iron Banner drops. Which means it's all going to be obsolete in a little over three months. On the flip side I have no problems with weapon masterworking even after sunsetting. Because I feel it's got a nice balance where I don't mind putting materials into a gun if I think looks interesting, but also won't fret the materials lost if I end up not liking it after trying it out. Armor masterworking doesn't have that nice balance. It's just a tedious slog of a grind that wasn't really worth it even before armor sunsetting. Unless armor masterworking costs get significantly reduced I'll probably never bother masterworking another piece again. I may make exceptions for exotics since they're still permanent for the time being, and I'll have the spare materials left over that I'm no longer using on other armor (granted exotics are even more ludicrously expensive to masterwork). However, as the costs stand now it just won't be worth getting my armor any higher than what I'll need for mod energy requirements.

Yeah I still dont understand why we need infusion currencies. Im not starved for them, it just feels dumb that im punished for grind to look the way I want with rolls I like. Im surprisngly ok with them being used still more masterworking.

They better reduce it after all this ignoring bs they keep pulling. I was already botherd by the weapon sunsetting but figured I might be able to get over it and then realized all my armor is gonna get capped. I have spent all my acsendant shards on my hunter set.

5 답변I mean that literally the idea. People are too busy having a baby rage to consider what acually changes in the game as a result of sunsetting. Game balance returns to a more stable field, meaning snipers and shotguns can get rebuffed again. Content like Black Armoury can potentially get new loot, and even if it doesnt, at the very least Crucible, Gambit and Vanguard will have new loot, period. Changing from long term investment to short term investment also means going from long term grind to short term grind. Armour on a timer means materials are less valuable, meaning they can drop from considerably more activities. This is all very very healthy for the game, both for hardcore and casual players. But no everyone complain cos they cant use a spare ration for the 3rd year in a row.

Bungie has stated in the past that they cannot keep up with the workload of having a vendor refresh every year as well as a bunch of new guns every year. It wasn’t that long ago that they said that kind of pace wasn’t realistic for them and they actually referenced that season of the drifter, black armory, and season of opulence was too stressful for them.... yet here people like you are saying you don’t even know how many guns they are going to release..... honestly it will probably be somewhere around five new guns a season and a whole bunch of old guns thrown in as well. This is what they have been doing since shadowkeep which by the way was the SMALLEST yearly dlc to date. They haven’t been releasing much content this year and their excuse was once again.... we cannot keep up with the model we had before shadowkeep and it was too stressful on our developers. This was their whole reason for shifting to the current model.... well that and money but as I was saying. I should take this time to mention that Forsaken, Season of the drifter, black armory, and season of opulence all put together added less content than The Taken King did back in destiny 1. In the taken King we experienced gear retirement but what came with it was an across the board refresh to every vendor in the game. This included crucible, vanguard, new monarchy, Dead orbit, Future War Cult, Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris, Prison of elders, Petra Venj..... those were just the vendors. We also got all new strike specific loot, all new exotic quests, all new world drops, and a bunch of new exotic weapons and armor. That is why the taken King was ok but this is not. Bungie will not be able to do that kind of update to weapons and armor every single year considering we have had the same set of iron banner weapons since forsaken, the same set of vanguard weapons since forsaken, the same set of crucible weapons since forsaken, and the same set of gambit weapons since forsaken. They did add a few more weapons for gambit prime and reckoning but that came in a different dlc and it was the only weapons they released for that dlc..... unless they take the taken king approach to this(which they won’t) this will only piss off and alienate their community after this falls flat on its face.....
