Everyone is welcome here! The first part was from Sitri’s perspective and now this one is from the heros. Anyways, even if you don’t participate in a prior rp of mine you can still join in at anytime as long as it doesn’t say closed at the top.

[spoiler]Okay, so this may or may not be a bit rough, as I kinda just developed a hero and this’ll be the first time giving her a “field test” so to speak. We’ll see if she’s a character I want to stick with. And I know I already have an Irish character, but I had to make this one Scottish, lol.[/spoiler] Skye pulled out of the woods with a grunt. Her armor was of a rather simple design, consisting of a cuirass, pair of vambraces, knee pads, and greaves which connected to plates that stretched over her feet. More plates hung at the sides of her upper legs. All had a pale silver hue, and attached by leather straps over a dark fitted suit. A helmet of similar style sat on her head, which would have had an open face were it not for the dark material that covered the lower half of her face. A quiver of ten arrows were latched to her belt. A longbow was sling over her shoulder, only it was of a more complicated and technological design. Once her foot was out of the brush, her green eyes took in her surroundings. She sighed in relief at the sight of a house. She set for it at a jog and knocked at the door. “Please be home,” she whispered in a light Scottish accent.

The cottage was far away from any town or village, making it unlikely that one, much less TWO visitors would come.[/i] “You expecting company?” [i]Hazel asked as Carter stood to get the door.[/i] “No..” [i]Carter shook his head and grabbed the handle of the door, hesitating a moment before opening it.[/i] “Hello?” [i]Carter blinked are the sight of Skye. He had not been expecting the sight of a warrior on his doorstep.[/i] “Can I help you?”

The corners of Skye’s eyes wrinkled, giving the impression that she was smiling beneath her helmet. “[i]Yes![/i]” She exclaims before suddenly clearing her throat. “Yes, sorry. I may have broke something on my bow.” She pulls the weapon off her shoulder. “It’s not working like it should. Do you have tools that I could borrow? I’ll be in and out, I know exactly what’s wrong.”

“Uhhhh... right. I haven’t been into the shop for a while so my tools are a bit old. But I’m sure you can find a pair of pliers in there. Did you need anything else? Food, water? It’s a long walk from town.” [i]Carter looked at her questioningly.[/i]

Skye pulls an empty canteen off from her belt. “If you could fill this up with some water, that’d be great. But if you can’t that’s fine just...” she pauses and hands him the canteen. “Thanks.” She suddenly becomes stiff and turns toward the shed as though embarrassed. As she goes, her mumbles to herself can be heard until she steps inside the small building.

He watched intently as Skye walked to the shed.[/i] “Finding everything ok?” [i]He asked as he turned back to the pump, closing the canteen as it fills.[/i]

[spoiler]Wdym? Everything okay?[/spoiler] Inside the shed, Cara is sat on a bench fiddling with some wires in a small compartment on her bow. She ignored Carter’s question for a moment, grumbling in frustration until finally she gave a thrilled laugh. Dropping the pliers, she rushed out of the shed towards Carter. She held out her weapon like it was her most prized possession. “It works again!” She cried happily. “Watch this.” Her hands gripped both of the bow’s limbs, and in a matter of seconds the string phased away, pieces retracted and hidden parts revealed themselves. When they finally settled, the handle broke in half to display two battle-ready daggers. With another laugh Skye snapped the hilts of the two daggers back together, and the process reversed to the original form of a bow. “Isn’t it beautiful?” She brushes her fingers over the bow proudly.

Luckily drunk me was able to remember that I pre-made some hard boiled eggs before drinking and I ate those and chugged a ton of water. If I didn’t I think I’d be in a world of hurt today 😅 [/spoiler] [i]Carter studied the bow as well.[/i] “I don’t mean to pry, but are you from the Ligarious Mountains? The craftsmanship looks like it references elements from their work. Not that I’m saying you copied them, of course.” [i]Carter gave an awkward laugh.[/i]

Her posture began to regain some confidence, though when she spoke there was still doubt. “I... can’t remember much, yet.” She shrugged, and her eyes darted back and forth, clearly thinking about something as she turned away from him. She grabbed the pliers to set them back in their box and cleared her throat. “And, eh... that bein’ said, I don’t really know where I am or where I’m going. Is there a town or something nearby that I can stay at until I figure things out?” [spoiler]Glad to hear lol[/spoiler]

Probably would take you half a day to a full one depending on how fast you walked. Otherwise, you’d be more than welcome staying here, I’m sure Hazel wouldn’t mind some more female company. There’s a guest bedroom you two could share.” [i]Carter smiled and then frowned.[/i] “Hazel’s a girl, sorry, didn’t mean to be weird. Also, there’s 2 beds.”

At his questions, Skye’s eyes became clouded with a pain, though it was difficult to see why. When she spoke, her voice was soft. “I wish I could tell you what I did manage to remember on my way here. Maybe later.” Then her gaze followed in the direction Carter pointed. She gave a chuckle in attempt to change her mood. “I guessed she was a girl, no need to be sorry.” She shuffled where she stood, contemplating Carter’s offer and testing the soreness of her muscles. They hurt, and the remains of a headache lingered in her brain. If she was to be honest with herself, she didn’t think she had adjusted enough to make another long hike. “A place to stay for a night or two would be... nice,” she said at last. “Is Hazel your daughter?”

Skye’s eyes widened. “Oh, that’s nice. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to... I didn’t see her so I... you don’t look that... I didn’t...” she faltered before again pausing awkwardly. “If you really don’t mind me staying here for a bit, I can’t wait to meet her.”

Otherwise I’m going to be grilling some leeks and I’ve also got some carrots and salad if that’s more your style.” [i]He waved his hand towards the cottage, beckoning her to exit the shed.[/i]

“Sounds good.” [i]Carter opened the door for her and gestured at the couch, where a girl around age 20 sat.[/i] “This is Hazel. Don’t be afraid to say hi Hazel, this girl’s very well mannered!” [i]He smiled at Hazel before shutting the door behind Skye. Hazel glanced over and said nothing. She rubbed her arm awkwardly.[/i]

Skye nodded to Hazel in greeting. “‘ello, nice to meet you. I’m Skye.” As she said this, she instinctively looked around the room. She inwardly scolded herself, hoping that it didn’t appear like she was judging the cozy albeit messy abode. She took her bow off her shoulder and leaned it against the wall by the door.

Skye’s brows pinched together. “What? No, I was just needing to fix my bow. I don’t know you.” Even underneath the cloth covering half of her face, it was easy to see she suddenly began to doubt herself. “At least, I don’t [i]think[/i] I know you.”

It is his house.” [i]She crossed her arms, obviously not pleased with the situation.[/i] [spoiler]Hazel’s supposed to be a tsundere love interest for Carter so that’s why she’s being so unwarrantably hostile XD.
