This Wednesday, April 29, we’re planning to release Destiny 2 Hotfix 2.8.1.1. This patch will have fixes for bugs that have popped recently, and also has a quick tuning pass for a weapon that’s been shining a little too bright in the Crucible since Season of the Worthy began.
Hard Light, a name that may either strike fear or pure joy in your heart, will be the subject of today’s article. Here are some notes from the team on how this weapon will be tuned come tomorrow morning:
Dev Team: Hard Light has been at the forefront due to a combination of recent adjustments to improve its usability and the adjustments to Auto Rifles that came with patch 2.8.0.
Most of the adjustments coming on Wednesday are to address its usage for mouse and keyboard users since the ability to precisely aim regardless of range allows you to use the weapon at longer distances, on top of being able to use ricochets more effectively.
Although weapons like the Fighting Lion can also do what Hard Light does for indirect fire, they are generally less effective during a direct confrontation. Hard Light boasts a lot of great stats, and its impact grows with more players using it - eventually no cover is safe. As such, we’re reducing some of the aspects that allow for indirect fire and unexpected lethality in odd scenarios, while still retaining some of the bonuses to keep the flavor.
Hard Light
- Hard Light's damage falloff now floors at 0.7x (Auto Rifles use 0.5x standard).
- Split ricochet bonus damage between PvE and PvP.
-- PvE damage remains at 2.0x damage.
-- PvP damage is now 1.35x damage.
- Removed a hidden recoil adjustment that made the weapon more stable than intended.
Stay tuned to Bungie.net for official patch notes, and @BungieHelp on Twitter for updates on our release timeline.
kb&mouse support on console doesn't work like it does on PC - the aim assist can get super funky with it
no matter, Suros was and is better anyway - guess that will be next..

If the thursday twab doesnt give numbers on guardian games think well just see the titan flag raised as hunters n warlocs will just stop caring. Give the titans the win because by than we all will have the new exotic.
-
Should do a hotfix on the hackers that are cheating in Destiny 2 servers in PvP. Exocites should be the most powerful weapons in Destiny but you keep nerfing them. Than you have cheaters using a white or green weapon and just crushing it with 38 - 40 kills a game. Fix your broken game and stop nerfing exocite weapons and gear.

1 답변All this does is remove the outlier without any changes to the root cause of the imbalance. Next will be Suros then all other 600 RPM. You might as well have adjusted the archetype.

3 답변Wat is the "hidden recoil adjustment that made the weapon more stable than intended"? Is that the removal of the screen shake?
-
This is great. Keep doing balance changes more often. Auto rifle changes were great for making primaries more viable. But its making other primary weapons less viable compared to autos. Other primaries need buffs too. As soon as possible. Don’t be afraid to do sandbox changes if you do them more often. Because you can just re adjust if its necessary.

I thought Hard Light was fine and now the trials auto rifle is going to be the next weapon people use. This is another way for Bungie to make people play stupid, sweaty and cheat bugged trials! Instead sort out this week's Nightfall Ordeal as I would really like to know how many people actually completed it with 100k score?

1 답변I don't know what I can't stand more. The idiots who brought hard light in in the state they buffed it too or the idiots crying about it being nerfed when it was disgustingly op.

Let's fix this watercress problem first before you nerf these guns, people on xbox have had this problem for 8 or 9 weeks now, everyone on YouTube talk about the problem with the game but they are playing it people with watercress cannot. If you don't like being killed by these guns try that little bit harder to get them. Bungie fix the problem with watercress it's time now

5 답변Now you just have to un-nerf handcannons, put Luna and NF back to where they were and there will be more variety. 600 RPM autos will still be overused unless other guns are brought up to compete

1 답변Next will be Suros. Then Revoker. Then Mind Benders. Maybe after that all the Trials weapons can be nerfed so it will make even more people feel like they wasted time on this game. Didn’t the catalyst just release a few months ago? Didn’t it just get a buff? Wtf Bungie.

I'm going to repeat it for the 100th time, so if you read this dmg04, tell your buddies to CREATE TWO DIFFERENT WEAPON AND ARMOR DATA FOR EACH MODE, not just an specific line for PVP and PVE, that's not a complete solution. Over 5 years of stupid weapon and armor nerfs because of PVP since Destiny 1 Vex Mythoclast, and the NORMAL solution is to create 2 different table datas. Other companies does it that way, Call of Duty games doesn't nerf weapons in the campaign when they're changed in PVP, and I doubt Bungie nerfed anything from Halo 3 to Reach's campaign when they could release patches because (most) Xbox 360 consoles had hard drives, right?... So why are they doing this with Destiny?. Tell them do to that once for all and they'll be able to balance properly each mode without having the other affected negatively. P.S.: If any comments anything about that's not a good idea beacuse there're lots of weapons and armors and that will be alot of effort, yeah, you're right. But it's their fault for not doing it since Destiny 1 or at least since Destiny 2 day 1.

1 답변So will Hard Light become as unstable (once again) as it once was making it basically unusable on console? That is the question. Wouldn’t surprise me. Should we give Bungie the benefit of the doubt? Surely Bungie is smart enough to not nerf a meta weapon into oblivion given the game’s present decline in players and overall poor seasonal mode? Right? Before we light the torches and sharpen our pitchforks we will have to give it a spin after the patch. For Bungie’s sake, I hope it’s still usable. If the gun becomes trash again then the forums will burn even brighter.
