Good evening everybody! This is Aifos coming to you alive from nowhere in particular!
Now, I haven’t shared too much of the haphazardly tossed together story behind my “Aifos” character (in no small part because it is haphazardly thrown together, and kind of all over the place), so you might not be aware that there are actually 6 different Aifos! And a little while back, I set out a challenge for myself to draw them all!
Now, I’m not great at drawing, but that’s kind of the point. Hopefully, if I stick to this, I’ll wind up better for it—and with that in mind, each one of these drawings is also going to have me testing myself, by doing something I don’t normally do.
To kick things off, I started with something simple; I normally draw with the characters facing mostly towards the “camera”, so I decided to draw from a sideways perspective.
As you can probably see, it’s not great, but I thought I’d share anyway, in hopes of getting some helpful critique, and/or an idea on what to do for the next one.
Anyway, without further adieu..
Orphaned, and alone after a catastrophic fire, a young boy gets given the magical Amulet of Avalor by the Protector Sofia, in hopes to keep him safe.
But power attracts power, and the Amulet draws in the attention of several evil forces—from the vile Relius Clover, to the shadowy puppeteer Maxwell, and even the world-destroying sorceress Vor. But with his friend Papika by his side, there’s no obstacle they can’t overcome!
..Probably!
He certainly won’t get killed by Vor and resurrected as a lich or anything! Definitely not!

So, one point I definitely recognize where I messed up was Aifos’ back. It’s really stiff, and straight, and probably should’ve curved in a little bit. I also struggled to find a good balance on the perspective of the transmutation circle—probably should’ve flattened it a little bit, and the circles on the triangle aren’t very even.
I decided to use “mitten hands” partially so I didn’t have to bother with fingers, but also to add a little bit of a cartoony cuteness to it, but I’m not sure if that worked very well, or if it just looks kinda awkward.
And those are the things I noticed, anyway. Any feedback is appreciated!
I made this drawing to stand in contrast to my last one, which is why I drew Aifos a little mopey. (it’s also designed to represent Arc 2, rather than Arc 3, but that means absolutely nothing to any of you except Bop, since I haven’t actually shared any of it)
The next piece, assuming I actually continue this project, will be Aifos’ edgy doppelgänger, Sophie! I don’t know how I’m going to try & challenge myself to do something new on that one, so if you have any ideas, let me know!
Tl;dr? Here’s my point!
I made a crappy drawing of The First Aifos (that’s me)! It’s not very good, but I posted it anyway, hoping for some feedback!
But that’s all for now folks! Jambuhbye!
Also, thank you Lee for inspiring me to draw again with your picture of Selene!
1 답변작성자: Yanoos 4/28/2020 10:48:14 AMArt bump
i also struggle with the line work while going over pencil and I think it mostly comes down to practice and a steady hand. the technique that other people talked about certainly helps as well. It also helps to have a good high quality pen/fine-liner that you feel comfortable with. Also the drawing is pretty good I like it a lot.
5 답변Ooooo niceu niceu, very niceu! At least you tried your best, though may I suggest a few things: [warning, long] When you draw, try start with pencil. To me, pen makes it more stressful when drawing. When you make your lines, do it in short strokes so that it won't look all wiggly, then erase strays or redraw the line in one stroke. And the circle, a bit smoother, and like a short oval. Just keep circling (maybe sideways to the paper) in an up and down motion so it's smoother. The triangles are good tho. And for the characters, idk. I think copying anime characters will help with your base character foundation.
I'm doing a bit o drawing myself. Though not sure if I should post just yet. I keep saying "after this one". That was a while ago...
3 답변작성자: Nightmare Tune 4/28/2020 3:55:52 AMI’m now challenging myself to determine all of your refrences.
that shadowy puppeteer of Maxwell is probably Maxwell from Dont Starve. That Vor person is a long shot, but I’m guessing Captain Vor from Warframe? And by “they are” I mean that you’re referencing a person, not they literally are.
