Before we get started, I just want to say that I still care about this game, and care about Bungie. But that doesn’t mean I’m going easy on you. This is going to be a very harsh post, with some constructive feedback.
Every single armor and ornament in the Season of the Worthy (including guardian games) seems completely lackluster. You can ABSOLUTELY do better than this, Bungie!
- I loved the Vex themed armor from the Season of Undying.
- The ornaments from the Season of the Dawn looked badass.
- The ornaments from the Dawning looked insanely badass!
Every single armor from this season (besides Trials, which is copied from D1, but better still than nothing) is 100% BORING!
Season pass armor theme: Cosplay Bloopers
On the day this season came out, I logged onto Destiny 2 to buy the season pass. But when I looked at the ornaments, for all 3 characters, I was like “Yeah, naw.” I didn’t buy it, and I’m glad I didn’t.
If you’re a warlock and you want to cosplay as Joseph Stalin wearing a slightly better-looking version of the Apotheosis Fail, these ornaments are just for you!
The hunter armor looks like you’re getting ready to go on a sled pulled by Siberian Huskies. In my opinion, this is the best looking armor set in this season pass, but honestly, that’s not saying much.
As for the Titan armor... damn son... looks like Master Chief REALLY let himself go! I know the whole situation with Cortana after Halo 4 and 5 made him feel really depressed, but daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, I didn’t know it was that bad! I’m seriously worried about the Chief right now. Is he ok? I think we need to go check on him or something.
Eververse armor theme: Camping Trip, WEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
The warlock helmet looks pretty cool. As for everything else, I hate it.
I want armor that looks badass and/or menacing. Something that’ll strike fear into our enemies. Just like that very beginning Sauron scene from Lord of the Rings. Oooooh, it’s a guardian with camping/fishing gear! Scawy!
Do you think new players will be like “Oh my god, I want that armor! It looks absolutely insane!!!” No!
It’ll be good for maybe 1 or 2 funny camping themed Destiny videos on YouTube, but that’s about it. No one is going to take this armor seriously, and actually want to wear it and show it off to other players.
I don’t want armor that makes me look like a civilian. I want armor that makes me look like a badass warlord!
Guardian Games armor theme: Plain Ol’ F*cking Boring
By the looks of how players are reacting, it seems like Guardian Games is a complete flop. Although I wouldn’t know. I haven’t played it. And why would I? The armor looks just as boring as everything else this season. Why should I play this?
I don’t even really have much to say about this armor, other than the fact that it’s just boring.
In my opinion, it’s moderately ugly, but at least it’s not meme worthy ugly, like the season pass armor (especially the titan).
Conclusion:
I’m genuinely curious. Did you fire some of your armor designers, Bungie? Because after seeing that every single armor and ornament this season looks DRASTICALLY worse than previous seasons, something is definitely up.
Warframe v.s. Destiny bullshit
Warframe’s latest deluxe skin looks insanely badass, and so does the latest batch of Tennogen skins. Did you fire someone, and then they ended up working for Digital Extremes?
Right now, Warframe and Destiny are both experiencing content droughts, power creep, lackluster updates, and pissed off fanbases (including me lol). But at least DE is still making stuff for players that look badass.
The only good looking armor this season was from the Iron Banner, and it’s the same armor from Forsaken IB, so it doesn’t count. The exotic ornaments this season are pretty cool (especially that Crown of Tempests ornament. Hell yeah!), but all of the legendary ornaments are complete trash.
Remember the Days of Iron ornaments from Destiny 1? The ones that made us look like badass human furnaces? What happened to THOSE??? Or the Age of Triumph raid ornaments? You made some of the most badass armor I’ve ever seen in any game ever!
What happened, Bungie?
WHAT HAPPENED???
Why must you feel the need to fire your most talented employees (if my suspicions are indeed correct)? If no armor designers got fired before this season, and you happen to be an armor designer reading this, you did a phenomenal job with previous seasons. Whoever told you “Don’t go too overboard with the armor this time.” F*cking IGNORE them!!!! PLEASE ignore them! Don’t let them shackle your artistic freedom and creativity! I want you to go as ludicrously overboard as your heart desires!
Feel free to go all out! Go completely balls to the wall! I want badass armor plating! I want horns and spikes! I want glowy stuff! I want armor that surges with flames and electricity!
Make it look as ludicrously, ridiculously, menacing and godly as humanly possible!
More Warframe v.s. Destiny bullshit
If you get fired from Bungie for doing your job, I’m sure that if you apply for a job at DE, they will welcome you with open arms. Unlike Bungie, they actually have an appreciation for insanely badass armor.
Edit: “Lately??? Where the f*ck have you been?”
Although I agree that none of the D2 armor even comes close to some of the D1 armor, I do like the Vex themed armor sets and the dawning armor sets. The reason why I said “lately” is because the armor sets in Season of the Worthy seem like a new low, even for D2 standards.

1 답변작성자: Kiro - 13 4/25/2020 1:30:30 AMNo reason to have gear that looks sleek/cool/stylish drop from any thing other then EV or Raids. If you want to have a wardrobe option and not look like you stepped out of a fashion nightmare they intend for you to sink in time raiding or sink money in EV. Both equate to you spending more time on destiny 2. I Have had random ppl tell me my hunter looks bad ass, edgy, & "pog" had to ask what that meant recently as I am in my 30s. Even had a what who shall be un-named popular streamer(or was) tell me my cloak looks cool and asked where I got it(IB warmind cloak ornament, if you seen it you know it looks fly as hell). But every bit of my armor is covered in either discontinued year one ornaments or premium silver only ornaments. Which I dont want to know how much money and time I have spent towards. Its unfortunate but I honestly believe the bad designs is exactly because of this. Making it all look bad so the only option is a large time sink or buying it with IRL money. Edit: Also I think over all Titans are easy to give some cool designs over all and dont suffer from poor designs to much. But Hunters and Warlocks deff suffer from wardrobe malfunctions all the time I feel and are tricky to give a unique stylish look.

As for me I've had it up to my neck with this type dedication to this game. I'm not paying for reskins, I want new armor, new weapons and just like you said... I want my guardian to look badass but unfortunately Bungie doesn't see it this way and that's why you have a lot of players mix and matching armor sets to make them look legit. I think Bungie is suffering from the same thing that Marvel is suffering right now. If you haven't noticed a lot of their developers have put in their bios on Twitter, he/him she/her and honestly this is affecting in my opinion what gets put in to this game... They will put the type of armor that they feel is right and NOT what the community players like yourself and I want.

It's entirely subjective, I agree that the season pass armor/ornaments are possibly the worst they've ever made, but I think the eververse ornament set is amazing (except for the Titan set). Also the current Iron Banner set is absolutely horrid, you see what I mean by subjective? There are probably some that really like the season pass armor. Personally though, I think cosmetically good looking armor has been going downhill ever since the king's fall raid armor. Crota's end/king's fall armor probably my personal favorite as far as looks go. Just my opinion though.

It’s true. I play Destiny for three reasons. 1) basic FPS mechanics, 2) story, and 3) loot. The story went out the window years ago, and the loot is boring. That leaves the mechanics, which are fine but without anything to chase or a compelling reason to chase it... eh. I’d just rather not, you know?

If you can get cool looking armour from gameplay then you are less likely to buy silver and spend it on eververse armour. I can't see it changing going forward, if you want to look awesome it's going to cost you unfortunately.
-
i think one of the main reasons why the armor has been so lack luster is because with the seasonal updates they feel they can just quickly release boring armor just to act as if next season will have better armor. they churn out a ton of sets every few months so everything is just rushed and crap

I agree with the very basic concept of your post. I do think overall the armor in D2 could improve and be more creative. However I do really like some of the concepts we’ve been getting. I’ll speak for about warlocks as it’s my main class. I have 3 sets that I love. 1) frostreach armor (dawning 2) 2) season of the worthy SP armor 3) season of the undying SP armor. The Frostreach armor is genuinely one of my favorite sets in Destiny history (yes I hold it up there with the D1 raid ornaments) At the end of the day armor being “good” or not is a matter of opinion. I do like posts like this because it keeps the idea out there that Bungie has to try to continue to be creative with armor design.

♫ Art is subjective unless you talk about the execution of X ♫ ...and talking about execution of themes: the armour recently has been well made when it comes to promoting their inspired themes, so no the armour lately isn't really 'lackluster' I would say. One is allowed to not like the look of something and still think it's well made. Subjectivity and objectivity are not mutually exclusive.
