1mil active for the day. But currently active player base is much less like 200-300k. So when you play you occasionally see the same people in PvP due to this fact. So the pop of game is actually really really low. Leinbanane14 high up in the comments had the numbers. And I added to it above him as a daily active comparison from previous years.

For the day no. No tracker tells you if the logged player logged online multiple times. People need to see that you should track active player pop. Which is more like 300k at any given time. They have more than 18million accounts. So: 300,000 active of 18,000,000 is comparatively not a lot all. And those 1m a day could be multiple logins of one account.

I feel like if I’m doing pinnacles and crucible, I’m literally switching between characters 15+ times in a day, and that doesn’t even count the breaks I’ll take in a day relogging on , so I’m basically 20 people instead of the one any given day, and I’m sure there’s more like me who just constantly switch, getting pit cp’s raid cp’s and the like. So depending on which data they are taking in, and if it’s not account wide and only the first time in a day, then it’s hard to take any data seriously when everyone is picking what variables they want to show to make the data look better. I can’t say anyone is wrong when we can’t actually look at the data, but I’d have to say a source like bungie, steam, or console data has to be the more accurate choice because they are at least source material, not second hand sources. Anyone can alter data to make the observer think what they want. Is there anywhere that you can see single account log ins in a day, that doesn’t double count when you switch characters or log in for a second time in a day?
