there have been many great viewpoints on both sides of the aisle.
Overwhelming majority still oppose the change, as it is.
I think the biggest concern, is the grind for a good roll can take an entire season as it stands, that would be insulting to lose it immediately after. Another big concern is, the materials we sink into our favorite guns will be wasted, if we decide to masterwork at all.
Finally, many fear that the weapon rotation from Bungies creative team will not, in fact, be fresh weapon ideas, but simply reskins of old tired weapons, in order to create an artificial gear chase, which would act more like a revolving door, than an evolving world.
If bungie can address these top 3 concerns, that would go a long way to showing some good faith.
resetting grind rewards solely for the purpose of adding more grinds feels bad The game already has a massive amount of grinds and we are constantly trying to choose the ones that are worthwhile with the most lasting benefit re-earning slight variations of the same weapons is just blunt force hamster wheel design add content instead of spending all this time trying to figure out new ways to add more grind
-
Simply put, if you want me to grind for other weapons give me a reason to want to use them. More interesting perks. A weapon archetype that has low single target DPS, but does wide AoE damage. Retiring my old stuff just so I'll feel motivated to grind for a reskin of the exact same weapon is not a creative solution.
-
They’ll retire all the old weapons just to give you reskinned weapons of what you had. You know they’ll be lazy on the content side and go this down the line. Maybe allow non retirement but a more and more expensive infusion to bring those old ones up to a certain level... I dunno. None of it sounds great and I’m not ready to let my efforts in getting breakneck, loaded question, 21%, whatever go completely to waste. And the fact that all these will just now rot in a vault with no space anyway - something that will likely not be addressed. They should just give up on the idea until D 3 — and then do the blanket start over on everything.

1 답변If you put "don't mind it", just remember you're stupid. You can't name a reason for this system to exist. Whatever outcome you assume is going to happen (or think will happen) is not what the mechanic implies. This will bite you in the ass. Hard. Protest this stupid idea until they admit they're wrong and stop. Weapon retirement cannot solve any issues. Not one. It's literally impossible. I dare someone to name a single thing this feature will fix and how exactly it will fix it. You can't. Not without doing your best improv of a clown.

It was fine year 1 of both games but that’s the problem, they happened after only 1 year. It’s been 3 years of content, as any y1 d2 weapon that’s still viable is also getting neutered. It’s 3X the amount of weapons which in d2 are much more reliant on roles than in d1, so it kinda sucks. RIP

작성자: Azoths_Gambit 3/4/2020 4:05:11 PMPvP doesn't come naturally to some of us. Some of us had to practice to earn our Pinacle Weapons. It took me a while to get Recluse, Lunas Howl, and Mountian Top. At first I wasn't as determined as my friends and I didn't try much, but after practicing with Fighting Lion, Sub Machine Guns, and Hand Cannons I eventually earned those Pinacles. A few seasons ago me and one of my friends whose very talented at PvP fought our way to Fabled for my first time and I earned two of the three of those weapons at once. I was the first person in my clan to earn Mountain Top, as no one else wanted to even try. With the addition of Momentum I had earned the few more multikills I had needed. These Pinacles are like Gold, Silver, or Bronze trophys for people who have managed to get to Fabled in Competitive. With Not Forgotten being like a Platinum trophy for the absolute best of us, I've never earned NF but it should never be nerfed or Capped, they worked hard to earn them. I will stop playing if there is ever a day when I can no longer raise the light of the Pinacle Weapons that I worked hard to get.

작성자: GrifterDeMier01 3/4/2020 6:09:52 AMHate it. I said in a few other posts the biggest reason why is my guns that have high kill counts eventually will be so weak they won't be viable any more so I'll have to keep them in my vault and not show them off any more. Right now between my 3 characters I have about 40-45 different guns that I really like that I'm always switching between. Each one has anywhere from 500-15,000 kills on them. Eventually they will all be useless so I'll have to start over with all new guns that have zero kills. Just a really dumb concept. If Bungie wants to add in new guns and it turns out they are fun to use and I like them, I'll use them. But I don't want to be forced to stop using my current guns and be forced to use all new guns just because some dumb made up power creep excuse.

Honestly as a pvp player the reason why we save our guns is because the meta changes every so often. So when it does we have a whole heap of weapons that have very good rolls on them that we can choose from and potentially discover a hidden meta. Also we can test them out and instantly infuse them and use them if we want. so I think it would suck if all of those weapons had an expiration date added to them.

작성자: Ultra 3/4/2020 7:38:34 AMThe idea of a new meta with new gear once every year sounds really exciting to me. A big reason for why I got burnt out of Destiny is because I got bored of using the same weapons for so long. I want to feel that new game excitement again. Taken King had it... We needed all new weapons back then. It felt like a whole new game. We'll never get that feeling from any DLC if we're always using the same shit. DLC is just "new missions" without gear retirement. With gear retirement, DLC will feel like so much more.

4 답변If you are gonna have a looter shooter mmo and you need a reason to get new guns. If the guns you already had work fine then there isnt a reason to do the looter shooter portion of the game and players lose interest. Players losing interest kills live service mmos. How to fix this? Limit usage through tiers of viable loot. It will be a jarring change but a positive one for the health of the game.

작성자: Ghodzilla 3/4/2020 2:32:37 PMI have some questions that make me wonder how and if limiting our ability to infuse our weapons past a certain point will help control the size of the game. 1. The guns will all still be in the game. Is Bungie counting on vast numbers of players deleting all their old weapons. 2. Bungie now has to internally track two sets of weapons; weapons that can still be infused and weapons that can't be infused instead of just one set of weapons that can be infused. Doesn't this mean more work for Bungie, not less? 3. Doesn't this discourage us from playing old content, including the older raids? How does this help with the lack of end game content problem? 4. Considering all the complaints about Bungie's tools and engine being so hard to work with, wouldn't Bungie be better off building new tools and a better game engine and working on D3? 5. If the game is too big, why not put the new content on a DVD? Is that an issue because console makers are moving away from including DVD players with their consoles? If that is the case, why not store part of the game on the cloud?

13 답변I can't believe there's a poll since weapon retirement is obviously the worst, and I can't understand why there's people loving or don't caring about having wasted their effort of finding the proper roll for the weapons. It's hours, or perhaps days, of effort that will be gone, how can that be a good thing?.
