I hope so!
It will be nice to use something different for dps. GL has its time then snipers now we can have something new, probably linear Fusions would be my guess.

Just being optimal really it’s a hard to use something you like and put yourself and raid team at disadvantage. I think their will always be a loadout that’s strongest but they could get them closer then I think it would give people a bit more freedom to use what they want.

Nothing will change too much. Whispers going to be king once again in raids, and izanagi will still be the nightfall king. Nightfall is speed based, and izanagi is losing sustained dps, but will still have the best burst damage in the game, so honed edge + divinity will still be number one choice for killing champions. In raids, even now whisper can still reliably 1 or 2 phase all raid bosses. And now next season has 0 competion for sustained dps from anything else, its going to make a big comeback. On the fringes i can see people also using xenophage, linear fusion with firing line perk, and legendary snipers with vorpal wep or firing line.

What do you mean, “something new”? If by that you mean Bungie elevates something else, they didn’t. If by that you mean they are bringing something else, they aren’t. If by that you mean you can now use something else, you always could. No, I’m having a hard time understanding how a PvE player could be happy about this.

What I meant is using something different for dps and yes we always could but why would you? Exotic Snipers were clearly the optimal. If they have to cut them back in line with others then I’m happy with that. I think the goal is to see multiple weapon types being used for dps. This isn’t the case at the moment so tweaks need to be made. I don’t get why people get so touchy on this topic.

Welllll... You have a favorite gun. You like using it. It works great. It’s PvE, so you aren’t hurting anyone by limiting yourself to what you like. Then along comes Bungie. “Oh, you really like that gun? We notice you haven’t been using these guns you don’t like. How ‘bout we ruin your favorite gun so you have to use guns you don’t like. You’re welcome!” Or maybe I like steak, but not vegetables. Bungie sees I’m not eating my vegetables so they make my steak taste like vegetables, or worse (and more likely), they make steak taste worse than vegetables. Should I thank them for that? I get adjustments when something offers an unfair advantage, particularly in PvP. Totally justified then. That’s not what happened here. On the PvE side, Bungie wanted to shake the sandbox up to make it feel fresher instead of creating new weapons to... er... make it feel fresher. Put simply, don’t expect me to thank Bungie for taking something that was working just fine so I can use something worse. I don’t understand why some people can’t see that...

I dunno it’s hard to put a weapon you enjoy over one that’s going to get the job done in raids. I agree most of destiny you can get away with playing what you want but in a struggling raid team you sort of have to run these weapons. If the dps output was closer to between weapons I think you can get away with using something you like.

작성자: ironBill 2/24/2020 8:13:05 PMI would agree with you, but your point ignores one very salient and germane point; making a preferred weapon worse did not make the unaffected weapons better one bit. That means you walk into endgame material weaker than you did before, all simply because Bungie wants you to do something else. That’s it. Edit: substituted “worse” for “better” in the first line. Sheesh. I need to slow down...

Well we don’t know that yet as we haven’t seen the full patch notes. But yes we will probably be worse off as the op weapon has been cut back in line. That’s something we have to except it’s nothing new to destiny. People moan for a bit then will just find new weapons to grind for. If the community would still be running Fatebringer, back hammer and Ghally if they had it their way lol.

Because people are not being given the option to choose. If Bungie wants us to use something soooo badly then they need to (a buff it or (b (in this case) change the boss mechanics so using other weapons is survivable

Well, snipers would be still comparable in damage with linear. Not to mention linear, outside Arbalest, need heavy. Not to mention Bungie tells us they are trying to get us into fray with shotguns and swords. This would mean probably nerf to linear aswell.
