When the decision is made to alter the direction of the franchise and take it down a FOMO rabbit hole this is what you’re left with.
The days of putting player enjoyment at the forefront of all Dev decisions are nonexistent since Bungie went independent.
Change needs to occur at the Sr Management Level to breathe some new life and fresh ideas into the franchise.
Bungie have become their own worst enemy and there’s no 343 Industries with a Golden Buyout on the horizon.

Honestly, Bungie most likely wants to be done with Destiny development. Think about it, the studio has been around for like 20 years and made two franchises. I am sure they are foaming at the mouth to make and design a new IP.
D2 launched in a bad way, they fixed it with Forsaken, then with Shadowkeep it started going bad again. Why must we keep going through this back and forth?
This a thousand times. They had it right with Forsaken.
The days of putting player enjoyment at the forefront of all Dev decisions are nonexistent since Bungie went independent.
I honestly don't think the Devs are at fault for the direction that D2 has taken. Everything stems from the leadership. The vision of the game (year after year, season after season, etc.), the direction the game should take (and is taking right now) and its roadmap. Devs can only do what they do because the leadership directs them to develop the game in a certain way. Both the good and bad aspects of the game. I'm not saying that the Devs are blameless, but they are not the ones that make any final decisions on what gets put into the game or what gets removed from it. Again, just my thoughts.

A job is a job - you do it to get paid. It’s the upper management (and board if they have one) that needs to make a change. Quick cash is very appealing but not sustainable. Major changes in the franchise that positively effect the player are highly unlikely at this point. Go ask all the Stadia players how they like D2.
