I was thinking about this and wondering is there an advantage to having a Kinetic weapon that is the exact same as one in the energy slot (same archetype, perk roll and stats) with the exception of the element added to energy?
If there isn’t an advantage to kinetic weapons then why not just put it back to primary, secondary and heavy and just make the primaries all have an element?
Looking for some feedback from the community because I doubt I would hear from the developers. Besides, the community seems to have a pretty good grasp on the game design as a whole and could enlighten me to why it’s this way.
Edit 1: I’ve seen posts saying kinetic weapons have an increase of damage over energy from 5% lol the way up to 30% more. Is it dependent on type (auto rifle versus sniper) for this variance in damage increase or is it just not a hard number that we have confirmed?

It's very neccessary I would say. But they need to think out side the box, there should be diffrent and more powerful type of ammo for those types of weapons. They need to increase the area of affect and damage. Kinetic weapons should have armor pricing rounds ,that do damage as they go in and then as the bullet comes out. They should have gravity rounds like in mass affect, and smart bullets, and things like magnetic trigger bullets or on things like scouts where you fire so many shots and release a trigger and they all explode at ounce. They need to play around with kinetic ammo types and give us new guns that do new things.

작성자: Badman 1/19/2020 11:18:08 PMThey should have never dropped the Primary slot Secondary slot Heavy slot that was in Destiny 1. They dropped it because they added energy primary weapons and there was absolutely no reason to bring a kinetic primary. The only change they needed to do was give kinetic damage some bonuses to make it it's own worth while damage type. They added those now with it's own burn modifier, bonus damage after shield breaking skills on some weapons, bonus damage on all unshielded enemies. They reworked the entire weapon system 2 times and almost ended up all the way back at the beginning. Such a waste of time and still not as good as the original set up.

1 답변작성자: GalaxySpider 1/19/2020 11:37:36 AMIt is a hard number. Kinetic weaopons (all types) do 5% more damage to non-shielded enemies which also includes enemies who just lost their shields. It is a thing because of the original dual primary system from Vanilla. To prevent energy weapons dominating, they added a 5% bonus damage to Kinetics. Their intention was that you swap weapons after breaking shields, playing a bit more tactical etc.

I wish u were able to put weapons in whatever slot you wanted like a infinite paths in the first slot, so you dont have primary and special weapons everywhere, so you could if you wanted to just put your special weapons in the second slot and just make your first slot for primary's it wouldnt take away what we have now but just add more freedom.

1 답변I was a big proponent for being able to move any primary and secondary between the 2 slots. Like I could run sunshot as a primary with beloved as a secondary. If I miss out on plus 5% ok. I'm guessing there is a reason against this but it's not obvious to me outside of technical issues.

3 답변Try a weapon with osmosis. Though I've only seen coldfront and buzzard that can roll it. .maybe there's other but if not it you might be screwed unless you like smgs of sidearms.

1 답변I prefer the Forsaken era weapon system that merges the D1 and D2 systems together. I think this is the best overall system we've had in Destiny's history. The advantage to having a Kinetic and Energy slot is to allow for more customizability, allowing for double primary and double special builds. Sure, it can sometimes be a little annoying if you have 2 kinetic weapons you want to use simultaneously, but that's why you have energy weapon equivalents to complete your build. I would hate to go back to a system that is more limiting than what we have today.

2 답변Halo-era Kinetic and Energy: Kinetic weapons kill enemies notably faster than energy weapons in cases where the Energy weapon doesn't 1-shot anyway Energy Weapons take down shields notably faster than Kinetic Weapons do. You could even say that this ties in to why Humanity might have a hard time fighting the Covenant, because their weapons (except for their most powerful ones) are pretty bad at penetrating Covenant shields in a reasonable amount of time. D2-era version of this same concept: Energy Weapons take down shields notably faster than kinetic weapons, and also aren't much worse than kinetic weapons when it comes to damage against flesh. So... why use a kinetic weapon at all when it doesn't have a significant benefit to damage against unshielded enemies?

3 답변The real reason is so that we can’t equip an arc, solar and void weapon all at the same time.

4 답변Kinetics deal more damage and typically dont suffer as much from elemental burn. Also genesis on a kinetic will proc on any elemental sheild.

6 답변작성자: A Discarded TV 1/19/2020 5:56:25 PMIn original D1 the raid weapons on primary slot gave burns. Then ole fat luke said that made the game to easy and we had to many master builds. Because we could have one of each burn in a slot.
