I have been playing this game for a month and i love it, but.... i got a notice yesterday saying i was restricted from matchmaking for 2 weeks for sullying others play experience with my "unstable" connection.
Here are my network statistics
*Download speed 33.74 Mbps
*Upload speed 1.75 Mbps
*Packet loss 1%
* Latency 85 ms
Now i know that's not the best but this is the only game i have ever had problems with. so at the very least i want to know why or how i got this restriction. was it because i play with a guy who disconnects 24/7, was it players who are upset i was beating them reporting me, or was it because of me. i know my statistics are not the best but they do not cause me problems with other games so please overturn it or tell me why other then the brief cookie cutter message you sent me last night

12 답변Your account has been restricted from matchmaking against other players for 2 weeks, beginning Jan 6th, due to extremely poor connection stability that was negatively impacting other players' experience. Specifically, we have repeatedly detected extremely high packet loss over several days averaging over 7% We initially sent you an in-game warning about your connection's extreme instability in December, which provided guidance on how to fix the issue. Your restriction has been reviewed and will be upheld. To learn how to improve your connection stability by reducing latency and packet loss, please carefully read this page in our Network Troubleshooting Guide: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13603

1 답변What I used to do when playing on my WiFi, is disconnect everything else in my house that was on WiFi. It helped a bit. Ultimately, after asking around on these forums, I ended up going with a hard wired connection. I stopped having issues.

2 답변Hi, I am just wondering if you are running your system on WiFi or hard wire. If WiFi, I would switch immediately to hard wire and it should fix your problem. I had a similar issue not long ago and was able to fix it by going into my router and changing some of the settings for the WiFi. I was continually dropping out matches and out of game play with Connecting to Destiny Servers coming up continuously and my upload and download speeds were much higher than yours so it made no sense. Since you indicated that you are not tech savvy, I am not sure you will want to go that route and do not want to spout off a bunch of techie mumbo jumbo. If you are interested in what changes I made, PM me and I will be happy to go into more detail. Note: if you have many devices on WiFi, just going to hard wire may not fix your problem since a high number of missed packets may impact your routers connection to the internet.

1 답변
*Download speed (bandwidth) 33.74 Mbps *Upload speed (bandwidth) 1.75 Mbps *Packet loss 1% * Latency 85 ms
Upload for PvP is likely not cutting it, unless you took these readings while actually playing. The minimum requirements is 1 Mbps in both directions, but that's assuming in the the game on your own. Since this is P2P, it means that each additional player that you have to send data back and forth with adds to the requirement. Your Download is likely fine. I would make sure that you are the only device on your network while playing Destiny games. Again, if you are taking this test while not in any games, you already are showing packet loss. Destiny games require persistent ZERO packet loss. Bungie has commented below, that while in game you are actually having fairly high packet loss. The key to Destiny games (especially PvP) is high availability, and persistent stability. Again, assuming you tested while not in a game, your latency is already at 85ms. Anything over 80 tends to start showing anomalies and lagging (the average for most players is 30-50). This will be greatly increased when you are trying to connect to multiple player consoles in a P2P networking environment. Therefore, your latency is likely stretched to a point where it is causing issues while playing. In summary, persistent stability is more important than high bandwidth (but also plays a part) in Destiny games. You cannot compare it to "other games" because it is not developed to work like other games. Streaming and cloud computing games (coming in the next gen) are going to have even more issues with mediocre connections like this, so you may as well get working on it with your ISP now. In the meantime, don't play PvP if your connection is not amply stable, or it will just keep escalating your restriction until you are permanently banned from PvP.

3 답변If you do a test where 1% packet loss shows up it means your system is actively having an issue. A stable connection experiences no packet loss and packet loss while you may not feel it affects others. You now have two weeks to resolve the issue with your isp before a 2 month ban occurs

Do whatever you can to fix it. Good luck, Guardian.

Here’s the link: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929 If your connection is unstable, causing a negative impact on the game for other players, that is why you have received the two week restriction. Take this time to troubleshoot any instabilities, or perhaps upgrade your service. You’ll want to test your network under load, and speak with your ISP. If your connection remains unstable after this restriction is lifted, your next restriction will be for two months, and further issues will result in a permanent restriction.
