This thread will focus on just a few fixes first that I believe will fix current semi useless guns. I will start with a few at first if people like it I will post all I have over time.
These Fixes all include a bonus unlockable perk for just using your weapon to get kills. The idea is to reward gun usage by adding a bonus perk to exotics and pinnacles. These bonus perks will not make the guns op just more functional in game. some guns need a rework on their basic perks I will put those down when needed as well.
Starting with a most requested gun to be fixed: The Breakneck.
*Breakneck
This gun was recently nerfed by bungie reducing damage done by rampage perk. Let's be honest though the rampage perk reduction isn't the real problem with this gun.
The Fix:
Add to the onslaught perk at 3 stacks of rampage this weapon reloads a portion of it's magazine from reserves (essentially the subsistence perk). You must have this perk only activate at 3 stacks of rampage any sooner and it will make the gun game breaking. It needs to be a viable add clearing weapon as a primary not a pvp killing machine.
Bonus Perk:
Feeding Frenzy
This perk would be unlocked after a reasonable amount of gun use kills maybe smaller objectives like some rapid kills or something to essentially teach the player how this gun can and should be used in game for add clear. The gun needs this perk to not waste rampage time in pve making it a viable add clearing weapon.
*The Recluse
This weapons master of arms perk was recently nerfed (needed to be). However it left the gun feeling a bit lacking and weak no longer feeling like a pinnacle weapon.
The Fix:
Master Of Arms perk. Adding a range boost while master of arms perk is active will give this gun a pinnacle feel the range boost should be equal to a range finder boost.
Bonus Perk:
Hidden Hand
This weapons damage is now fully boosted by head shots only. Therefore a range increase as listed above plus the hidden hand perk will make getting those head shots a little more possible as it is a submachine gun after all.
*Oxygen SR3
This one is a lackluster gun built off an interesting idea that just needs a little more umph to make it a viable add clearer.
The Fix:
Meganeura perk should stack to 5 instead of 3 and while meganeura is active rounds become explosive rounds the explosion increasing in size as meganeura stacks. This has to be kept within reason. Why explosive rounds this gun badly needs more punch.
Bonus Perk:
Full Auto
This gun bounces all over the place and feels odd to shoot. Giving it full auto will allow the player to concentrate more on aim and controlling the weapon and less on spamming the fire button while trying to deal with the bounce.
*Hard Light
This gun is a personal favorite of mine always has been. Not that there is anything wrong with it but the masterwork was lackluster.
The Fix:
Adding a special perk to this weapons masterwork I am calling Unyielding light. Increases number of times projectiles can bounce by up to two (random bounce potential). Rounds pierce barriers strong against barrier champions. This should pierce barriers as those are the most common champions and this weapon is excellent for match game. It would mean the gun is always useful in all engagements.
Bonus Perk:
Moving target
Why tbh lol it compliments my play style with the weapon. It should also help people make better use of this weapon.
Python
This gun is just not very good :\
The Fix:
Removal of extended mag perk replaced with a new special shotgun perk "tactical assault mag". Tactical assault mag will combine tactical mag with assault mag taking the one ammo and the reload speed from tactical mag and the stability plus fire rate bonus from assault mag.
Fix Two:
Removal of useless shield disorient perk replaced with trench barrel. Why? This gun should be a functional melee/shotgun weapon. Removal of feeding frenzy replaced with opening shot. Why? To use in combination with one two punch.
Bonus Perk:
Field Prep
Have to increase that carried ammo and that reload time after feeding frenzy loss. It is worth it though folks crouch and reload is not very hard to do.
Komodo-4FR
Uhh yeah... No comment.
The Fix:
Add a drop down below accelerated coils for liquid coil. Remove eye of the storm for dragon fly. Dragon fly is a very powerful perk for a linear fusion rifle in pve basically making it into a long range precision rocket launcher.
Bonus Perk:
Vorpal weapon
You will know why when the time is right.
The Mountain Top
This is a perfect weapon.
The Fix:
None needed.
Bonus Perk:
Auto Reloading Holster
Why because why not. That is quite literally the only thing this weapon needs.
If people like this thread I will add many more. I added more then I was originally going to to start off. A lot of thought went into these insuring that they are balanced and functional. The only questionable one for me is the oxygen one with the explosive rounds as it seems good on paper but may be too powerful in practice.
