I think you should cap prime engrams to 3 a week but make them pinnacle, most engrams now drop at 960 for myself and so prime engrams currently help in no way whatsoever, limiting them to 3 a week means people wouldn't hit pinnacle cap instantly but gives people another incentive to keep grinding out regular activities to earn the prime engrams.

The original purpose of prime engrams was to help out players level up but some idiots at bungie made them available to those who do endgame content and competitive play which they have exploited while those in open world/patrol are being treated like crap for the exact same item with grinding for countless hours just to get one. If anything is to be changed is that bungie should make them only available for pve activities like patrol - strikes - and nightfall

The pinnacle system was put in place to allow the streamers, hardcore and people that always play in teams to get their base light level higher than that of casual players. Bungie aren’t going to change it. If you’re a casual player like I am then you’ll maybe increase base light level by 2 or 3 points (Iron Banner, maybe an occasional nightfall) across the entire season. Personally, I’ve put more effort into the artifact. I know it gets wiped each season, but when the next season starts the +10 advantage from the pinnacles gets wiped out and it’s quick and easy to hit 970 (or whatever) very quickly anyway.
This is not a ‘crying’ nor complaining post. It’s simply my view on what the current system is.
-

The only way to level past that is pinnacle activities , which is the way it should be. No reason for primes or exotics to drop higher at this point
