starting where I left of last night...
Disney has finally accomplished what they should have done from the start, made me feel like the movie ended well. I am left satisfied.
so a little introduction for those who don't know me. I am one of #Offtopic's Star Wars nerds, a literaly whoms'tv (did I spell that right?) Of meager(or less) acclaim. I haven't been around much for the past month or so(that may be why you don't know me). I specialize in Star Wars Legends.
I went and watched Star Wars Episode Nine: The Rise of Skywalker last night. I gotta say, it's the best out of all of Disney's star wars movies that have been so far released. It ends with a similar feel to The Last Jedi which felt to me (the Legends nerd) like things were brought to a better close than I would've expected from Disney.
So despite the canonical differences I can say I'm happy with how things have been finished and want see them make some more star wars movies, so long as the aren't trying to rewrite the history.
Good Morning and Merry Christmas!

2 답변작성자: WILLtheKILLA5 12/22/2019 5:51:59 PMThe mere fact that it’s written as shit tier fan fiction with a blatant Mary Sue, with the consistently inconsistent plot. It’s enough to not both anymore and hitch my horse to Warhammer. Edit: also I hate it when people have to give their credentials to talk about anything makes me think they are trying too hard. I.e. Star Citizen and Gears

작성자: AngryTormentor 12/22/2019 3:26:09 PMGonna have to disagree. I'll praise RoS on both a cinematographic and musical level. I especially loved the atmosphere in the emperor scenes. However having now watched it twice I've gotta say it's easily, IMO, the worst Star Wars movie tied with The Phantom Menace. I've got my problems with both The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. However they at least on a fundamental level had a story that made sense. The RoS script is outright embarrassing. There seems to be so many logical inconsistencies and plot threads that are forgotten that I feel we're missing chunks of the story. For example there's a scene where Finn has something to tell Rey. It's gets mentioned again just before the snake in the tunnels. To be promptly dropped and forgotten about for the rest of the film. Then there's the Emperor. I love the fact he shoots the lightning into the sky to disable the ships. Problem is though when he directs the same energy at Rey she just blocks it like it's nothing. I could write an essay on this movie. Just not gonna subject everyone to my ramblings. It's good you enjoyed it though.

1 답변Honestly though they could have gotten away with doing Epsiode 9 Parts 1 & 2 instead, and would have been able to flesh out the story better.

2 답변I enjoyed it. Not as much as I enjoyed Rouge One, but I would give it a 7/10. I will put it this way: JJ in Episode 7 put down a good concrete foundation for the rest. Rian with 8 brought all of the materials, which all turned out to be straw. So JJ with episode 9 just had some straw to work with and made the best straw structure possible. Sure, it leaks in some places and shakes, but it is still a really good straw house.

작성자: NorthElite 12/22/2019 9:43:59 AMWell the best they could do was have my boy Hayden do some voice work but GOD DAMN IT I WANTED TO SEE HIM. If Anakin and Coruscant appeared in this film it would have been a straight up 10/10 from me.

1 답변Some of the dialogue was dumb as a sack of rocks, but it was a mostly enjoyable movie. There were also a lot of little details easy to miss or overlook throughout, which was neat. I wouldn't give it more than a 7/10 though, and even that's pushing it. It had a lot of little stupid things dragging it down.

1 답변I just got back from seeing it, and I’m still trying to process how I feel about it. For better, and for worse, it does play out as Star Wars fan fiction created by a massive Star Wars fan, and the movie is very, very busy ( it jumps from one set piece to the next, and there’s no down time to think about anything, which is just as well given how ludicrous everything is ), but I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought it would, especially given all the harsh ‘critic’ reviews. The movie is definitely at its best when Rey and Kylo Ren are on screen together, which thankfully happens quite often.

7 답변I'm glad people are enjoying it, but it sounds like an utter train wreak to me. I thought TFA was boring and TLJ is the only movie so far that I actually dislike and never want to watch again. Hopefully this will be the last bad Disney SW movie. It's kinda odd how Solo and Rogue One, two movies no one really wanted ended up being the best movies they made.

8 답변I really loved the new movie. I never got into Legends books, mostly cause I never tried, but I really loved everything to do with the lore of ROTS. It redeems the sequel trilogy, IMO.
