So, I’ve spent the past two hours sitting around in queue for a GoS garden run because well, reasons I’ll touch on later, but note that it’s been two whole hours where I can do nothing gameplay wise, and not just that, there’s still no guarantee the queue will ever pop, or if it does that it will be a team that actually takes me, or speaks the same language. (I only know English.) Now, for a complaint not directly tied to just guided games, I know what to do in this raid, I’ve done every encounter enough, but because I don’t have any clears because no “skilled” players want to play with someone with no clears, I’m stuck in an annoying limbo where I either fireteam with a learning raid, and then proceed to not finish because those always fail at the final boss, or, I queue this for a place where I can get my first clear, neither works, if you don’t have access to good players to work with early into a raid’s lifespan, you never will, simply due to how elitist the community is, whilst still being terrible. I’m not naming any specific names, but I’m sure you know plenty of people like that. So, why do I say guided games are terrible? (for those that do not touch them.) Simply put, it doesn’t create the safe space in between, nor does it guarantee a raid at all, because there is almost no incentive to actually queue a guided game as a skilled player. I know I’m just whining in most of the people reading’s eyes, and I’m sorry for coming across that way, but something needs to be done about guided games. I feel like in an elitist space, or a hardcore space at least, there needs to be a decent way for people to try to either transition, or see the other side, and guided games fails to let the more casual plays actually play raids.

Put two of your stronger players on Relay Defence, and another two on either portal team. If you have a couple of weaker players (and lets be honest theres usually a couple) send them through the portals with a good player. All they'll need to do is not eat shit to basic adds 😉

2 답변Just add optional matchmaking to every single activity. If you don’t like the group that was made, just cue up again or wait them out. Either option works. And if you have most of a team, matchmaking would fill in the rest. No one would be able to boot anyone but you are always free to leave. And best of all, it it is added as an option (like actually have to turn it on or off) we could chose not to use it.

Bungie employee who is the creator of Guided games said they “ wanted to create an lfg safe space “ so we got guided games. She said she was bullied often for being a female gamer on lfg so created this garbage.

1 답변So I don’t disagree it’s in a sorry state at the moment but I think it’s a good thing to have unlike some of the people commenting. And actually I’d add I’d rather take someone who is actively trying to learn than some of the pugs I’ve had with us in the past that won’t shut up and listen or admit they’re making mistakes. As the leader of a pretty active clan and someone who has led quite a few raids I’d say this as a reason for the poor uptake: When we’ve tried to run a raid with guided and Sherpa through we often found we were getting matched with people who didn’t even have a functional microphone. On console, It isn’t possible to do a raid unless you have a mic, if something goes wrong you can’t tell anyone. Even if you know what your doing this still happens and that’s ok, but it’s a problem if your team keeps wiping because of something easily preventable if you could just tell everyone. The next thing is something you’ve already mentioned; the language barrier. If someone doesn’t speak the same language it can be a real issue. Lastly, the power requirement is completely stupid for this. I’ve been matched up with people using absolute rubbish gear before and who are only just able to get in to the raid. That’s great, I know people get excited to give the endgame challenges a go but honestly nobody, even sherpa’s, enjoys and wants to drag you through a raid with you constantly dying and messing everything up for the group. So how should they actually fix it? They need to give clans willing to actually do the guided games more control over the matchmaking process. I want to be able to specify at least that the other person has a mic, then light level and language of the person I’m trying to take through. As for incentive for clans to Sherpa through new players? I mean I don’t mind doing it if the person isn’t an ass, is willing to listen and is powerful enough not to wipe every 10 seconds. But maybe like a unique set of weapons and armour would be a good incentive. Even a special pinnacle weapon that actually does something useful would be a nice reward. And some triumphs too. Maybe a title? There’s a lot you could do with it.

6 답변I think bungie should just offer double loot or better loot for hosting guided games. Then groups will have an incentive to do it.

1 답변This community is the worst honestly just recently i left a D1 community on PS and every raid post had KWTD in it. Well how do people learn exactly?

1 답변Bungie need to add optional matchmaking for all content except raids and a decent ingame lfg system. For a “social” game it’s piss poor.

1 답변I haven’t done a raid since Last Wish due to friends/clanmates not playing anymore. From time to time I go to LFG just for the fun of it and sometimes there is a sherpa post. Just keep looking and you’ll find someone - that’s what I’ll do at some point.

1 답변I'm wondering what kind of incentive they could offer to guide teams? It would have to be something nicer than a simple emblem or shader.

A barber shop The list goes on and on, and when you try and engage with these people they become insulting, these are the types of players that create toxicity and gradually kill the community. So if only other people had this kind of perspective the game would be in a better state, but now Arthur Daily, sorry Luke Smith is being allowed to make many many bad decisions that when you look at his past go against the kind of stance he took as a journalist.

3 답변Yeah it would be so much better to offer an incentive for more experienced players to help out. It could also do with an interface to make it easier to find teams.

1 답변I think the best incentive for clans to do guided games would be double exp and increased loot drops for the guiders. I mean if it increased the odds of 1k or anarchy dropping youd probably see a lot of clans doing weekly runs.
