I recently heard about it and I have been looking into it a bit, but after seeing some of the videos, I don't really understand it or how it works, since it does not seem to do anything for me except creep me out or make my teeth ache (yes, I am serious there. There was paper or a wrapper or something crumbling and it made my teeth ache & me want to punch someone.).
So before I dismiss it as a snake oil thing, figured I would ask around, see what folks experiences were with it.

1 답변I use it all the time, it takes the edge of my tinnitus and helps me get sleep. 'Vert hit it on the head, ASMR isnt just one thing...and it's all relative to the listener/viewer (ASMR - autonomous sensory meridian RESPONSE). What works for one person won't necessarily work for another, those whispering vids that seem to be popular in the ASMR crowd make me want to choke the shit out of someone. Same goes for fingernail tapping. But some clicks are great, I'm a sucker for socket wrench & ratchet strap clicks (csr & military thing I guess). Sometimes the reaction comes from a visual trigger, that's why there are more than a few bits with hand & finger gestures or some sort of light display. In order to not just be so one-dimensional a lot of artists started doing some form of storytelling or roleplay. It surprises me, given the predominance of lame RP around here, that ASMR isn't more popular in OT.

5 답변작성자: Cobravert 10/31/2019 4:29:09 PMThere is something to be said for certain sounds having different stimuli responses, but the thing they try to make this out to be is today's 'super' ailment fixer upper, and I don't put any stock into it. The sound of a gentle steady rain can be relaxing. Couple it with the smell in the air of the dirt getting wet, and it enhances that feeling. Hear glass shattering, or of tires squealing followed by the sounds of metal being mangled, it has a whole different affect. My oldest son has a form of ADHD (un-diagnosed), but he has a 'gray noise' machine that sounds like an air filter in his apartment. It helps him focus somehow. To me, it's an auditory distraction that makes it difficult to hear other things that I find it more difficult to focus on. But this ASMR (sounds like a made up, forced acronym) in where they are trying to say that the noises are causing euphoric states? BS. Maybe to those who might be wired weird, but it's not anything to me.

The link above is good example of the ASMR I enjoy. No talking, no e-chicks attempting softcore, no awkward fiddling with microphones. Other kinds I enjoy are messages, chiropractic adjustments, haircuts/shaving, and even hypnosis. Just google "unintentional ASMR" and that should do the trick. (I forgot to mention that this doesn't do a thing to you in the medical sense and people who claim that belong in the Funny Farm. It relaxes you, that's all.)

1 답변I never knew was ASMR was until I saw this video. I find it irritates me and pisses me off for some reason.

3 답변Only one that ever made me feel any bit relaxed is one where the person was lightly scratching a wool-sock covered microphone. Other than that, kind of annoys me. Especially the low whisper ones.

3 답변... It's weird, people who do it are weird, people who like it just watch it to feel like someone loves them, and it's weird...
not included in the DLC
1 답변The only thing to ever give me ASMR is music. ASMR videos just grate my nerves. Especially those with talking very low/whispering.

6 답변
Do you read the Babylon Bee satire articles? If so, it is a synopsis of my views of ASMR. It's a scam, and the fact that it seems to be focusing on and brain washing a certain group of furries infuriates me even more so. I was married once and understand your feelings toward flying off the handle and being unreasonable. That said, I would never stand, sit, downward dog, missionary position, jog in place or otherwise exist while this continues! I'd prove the ASMR audio fraudulent with scientific, medical and MOST IMPORTANTLY HOLISTIC journal proof. I can take a lot, but blindly listening to ASMR is not one of them. That and she can go get her own stupid yeti thing.
*REEEEEEing Intensifies*
