I've been saying "D2 will be all right". I don't know or care to work out the math (so thanks for that), but the question is, Why does Bungie just not explain this with a small section of the TW@B, even if it just says "with the buffs to base damage, you wont notice much difference with these nerfs".
Bungie causes a lot of unnecessary outrage by not simply explaining things as well as they could. If I were about to write a TW@B full of nerfs, I'd want to male it as reassuring as possible.

And then the sheep will begin to baa at Bungie to "stop nerfing us" and "quit destroying our power fantasies". Even if they had dedicated a section of the TWAB to information like OP provided, they would still lose.

I disagree. If someone can point me in the direction of power levels explained by Bungie, regarding damage you deal (guns) vs damage you take (armor), and the effect of the overall power level... you know... since the beginning... ... with actual numbers and values... I'd believe this. As of now, I don't. It may not be because Bungie has not explained anything with values applied, it may because I don't spend time on reddit.
