Many, if not most, super villains have tragic backstories that can make us feel bad for them, even if what they do is bad.
One good example from me is Two-Face, from Batman. He's not completely evil, just half, sort of. He's even helped Batman in the past (not to mention that flipping a coin, rigged or not, is a cool way for him to make decisions).

4 답변Diavolo from Jojo’s bizzare adventure. I won’t spoil his death but I do think that it was a bit extreme.
YOU WILL NEVER REACH TRUTH
1 답변Magneto. Given what he experienced in WW2, it's easy to see why he wound up the way he did.

Harlequin. She was a psychiatrist and average citizen...until trying to treat The Joker broke her mind. ...and once she got out of The Joker's clutches, she fought her way back to sanity. Dealing with someone wildly mentally ill and has a character disorder like The Joker, can put a severe stress on your own mental health. Especially if that person has a talent for finding your weak spots and stressing them.

The Illusive Man. While he was a massive space racist, he had humanities best interests at heart and had a reason to dislike other races (the first contact war, read the comics about his earlier adventures as Jack Harper) as he didn’t trust them. When the reapers attacked he wanted to utilise their technology to defend humanity from the coming onslaught although eventually he turned for the worse and tried to control them which led to his indoctrination. The entire way through ME3 he is in complete denial and still believes he can save humanity by controlling the reapers ironically not realising they were controlling him. Eventually he can break free and kill himself so he can’t harm Shepard when you’re on your way to saving the galaxy. He had good intentions but went down a bad path which eventually spiralled to him becoming a puppet of the reapers.

8 답변Massively Handsome Jack. He didn't deserve any of the shit that happened to him. Not his grandma and her punishment, not Angel's mother dying, and especially not Lilith. Fuck Lilith. I was actively cheering for the Calypso Twins when they kicked her into the dirt and drained her powers.

Darth Vader Nebula I mean originally on both, no. they were bad guys after all. But once seeing their stories played out it's easy to empathize with their becoming who they were prior to having a change of heart. Redemption stories I guess.
