Game will not stop crashing and will also blue screen my computer

I play this game a lot, recently it was crashing. Not error coding, just crashing to desktop. It told me to scan and repair files... I have done this multiple times, and it has redownloaded parts the game twice. I have also moved it to my other M.2 and my hybrid drive. Every time I try to run the game it blue screens my computer and it has given me various errors that seem to be related to memory. I have really bad internet (wifi) that cannot be helped, before I commit to the full 90 gig download for two days, is there any known issue out there that can help me so I can play the game again? Thanks - Also my computer is about 6 months old, a custom build that runs 15 various other games no problem and has run D2 for months with no problem, its a 980ti I9, 32gigs of ram etc.

  • Are you overclocked? Have you run any stability testing? Definitely test in memtest, and ensure that you do not have issues with the a bad memory chip. XMP settings do not always work on every system, and you may need to use them as a general idea, and loosen the timings a notch or bump voltage slightly to stabilize if you are having errors. Destiny is VERY sensitive to instability. While other titles and software may run fine and not show any errors, D2 wont. If you are overclocked, and even if you are not, you might want to stability test in multiple applications and target each element of the PC to ensure that it is working properly. Prime 95, Intel Burn Test, Aida64, and MemTest are the most common applications to use to test for stability. If you are overclocking without testing for stability, you are gambling with your OS, running on unstable settings for a while can and will corrupt the OS and you will need to reinstall everything.

    • Since you suspect memory issues, not only is a full battle.net and D2 reinstall recommended, I'd also roll back any other software you've installed since D2 worked fine. Also, not sure if you have 32GB or RAM so you can multitask, but I'd take that down to 16 just to see if it helps. If you're using XMP in your BIOS, turn that off too. There is also a bug in Windows that cause high CPU usage. Destiny 2 is a CPU intensive game, check your CPU temps. Maybe the bug combined with game is overheating your proc.
