I play Destiny 2 on Xbox and was looking at my Achievements the other night, mainly the ones I don't have yet. Here's some info for you:
Belly of the Beast - Complete the Leviathan Raid. 12.86 percent of gamers have achieved this.
The Prestige - Complete the Leviathan Raid on Prestige difficulty. 5.29 percent of gamers have achieved this.
Wishing for the Best - Complete the "Last Wish" Raid. 3.87 percent of gamers have achieved this.
Granted this info relates to Xbox only, but damn, look at the number of gamers that have completed the raids! Now we hear Bungie is making the raids "more" challenging. I'd imagine the percentage of gamers that complete the next rounds of raids to be even lower. I see questions in the forum all the time about "who" Bungie makes the raids for, I mean, it's pretty obvious with all the manufactured hype over "Worlds First" placed on newly launched raids.
There's a post on the front page where OP suggests the raids need to have more mechanics in them, suggesting there were more mechanics in D1 than D2 raids. It looks like to me that adding "more" mechanics into a raid only lessens the potential for the core group of players to actually finish it. I'd venture a guess that most players don't have a ready group of above-average players to complete a raid with. I understand that the Raid is supposed to be mainly for the skilled end-game player, but damn. I assume Bungie puts a lot of time into development of the raids, only to have a sliver of the player base actually experience them.
Bungie seems to have lost focus on which group of gamers make up the "majority" of their player base, and that's sad.

I see a ton of individuals complain about elitists in the forums while completely ignoring the individuals willing to carry or that have no requirements. There’s numerous individuals who simply do not want to play with others. They prefer playing solo. I have more than one friend whom do not speak because they are very shy, nervous, one is physically unable to, and another is hard of hearing. Although for these friends were usually able to make accommodations to work around it pretty easily. Other individuals feel that raids should have automatic matchmaking and feel it is not their responsibility to have to search and find a team. Other individuals don’t possess the skill to complete the raid and do not want to bog down a team. These individuals often need encouragement just to step foot into a raid. The reasons vary. However the “hardest” content in many games are rarely completed for most games, not even just in the style of destiny. People tend to have a short attention span and get tired of games rather quick, swiftly moving to the next stimulating game.

1 답변I'm not a fan of tedious fail conditions or overly complicated mechanics. More than that though, I really dislike having to be in voice chat listening to all the nonsense. Loud kids in the background TV too loud Chewing food in the mic Wanna be rappers Foul and crude language Rude or downright mean players Know-it-alls who won't stop talking Loud fan blowing into the mic Etc etc etc

1 답변Uhm because like half the player base doesn't even give a damn about them? Even with raid matchmaking, better loot, etc. the numbers would still be super low because many that play simply do not give a -blam!-.

4 답변D2 raids are dull D2 raids overly technical D2 raids have weird revive tokens D2 no purpose story wise D2 just flat out boring Toxic elitist attitudes deter more people from wanting to try and learn These are why numbers are so low. They won’t get higher at any point especially with overall numbers continuing to decline

11 답변The answer to it all is Community jerk offs Look at most people playing raids they have absolutely no patience Have a list of requirements and to make things worse when you question it a whole slew of people will come out defending it It’s just pathetic While I get end game concept it just comes across as an exclusive club Certain players think it’s acceptable to act like entitled elitist instead of building community spirit It’s all about THEIR time This won’t change anytime soon Not with crying babies wanting constant nerfs on sub classes weapons and exotics This community needs to change its attitude

The lute sucks donkey balls. Each raid has like 1 good legendary weapon and your chances of getting something you want is not the effort. As you can get a weapon somewhere else in the game that is the same or better who cares about raiding. If i can get a weapon in 30min verses a 2hr time commitment i will do that instead.

2 답변I don’t play raids because I would probably be considered too young, and I can’t organize anything with my clan.

1 답변I think what they really need to do is bring back prestige difficulty. This way the normal raid can be somewhat accessible to everyone, while the elites will still have something to play for. Everyone would benefit from it.

2 답변작성자: Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds 9/7/2019 2:55:52 PMPeople don’t seem to like them as much as Bungie would like. I think they should provide an additional, OPTIONAL version that’s more like a long strike with multiple bosses that rewards only A SINGLE raid reward per week, with players only being able to that or the full version each week, but not both. Many more people would raid. Some people just don’t like the time it takes or the convoluted mechanics. Some people put fun at the top of their list, not arduous, trial and error challenge. Me personally, I don’t like them because synchronized swimming trial and error mechanics is not fun to me at all. It’s tedious and takes too long. I’d prefer to not have to rely on other players or have them rely on me as much as possible. The extent of that that I’m ok with is matchmade activities where communication isn’t required.

Leviathan is still tedious and glitchy as hell when run on prestige so most of my clan won’t bother running it unless they really have to right now. Last Wish is ok but why bother running all the encounters when you can just skip them straight to riven and go for the 3 weekly attempts to get 1K voices. I actually enjoy most of the encounters in last wish when I’m running with my regular clan raiders but can understand how annoying it can be for people trying to run it with first time raiders. Scourge is ridiculously easy right now. CoS seems ok-ish but again unless people are will to learn mechanics at the end can be a frustrating thing to bring new players through as there is a lot going on all at once.

1 답변Those percentages are entirely wrong as it includes people who played 30 minutes of D2 in September 2017 and not the people who actually play the game
-
For me its about the amount of time it takes to find a group and learn the raid before actually getting through it and getting the rewards. I'm a pretty casual gamer, and I tend not to play for more than an hour or two at a time tops. Im also a solo player, who rarely does anything without in-game matchmaking. Does that make me a filthy casual? Yes. Yes it does. But there are a lot of casual and solo players out there. There will always be those who aren't up for activities that take as long as a raid can, especially the first few times. And that is ok.

8 답변Because of dumb people who join a lfg KWTD raid that don’t know what they’re doing, then they get kicked and message “why did u kick me?”. People don’t mind teaching as long as you are upfront and honest about it, but when you’re holding back a team they don’t want u in there anymore.
-
Good point. Never tried a raid even thiough I had he chance to try with clanmates. Maybe have watered down / more forgiving version where people can figure out encounters while they play. In-game clues should be enough to figure out what to do. Players shouldn't have to "study" beforehand. Then prestige mode could require better execution and communication but with same mechanics. This would make learning encounters less challenging, not necessarily the raids and encounters.

1 답변A large chunk of the player base either 1. doesn’t like having to LFG for groups and/or 2. Are bad at completing mechanics, even simple ones.

6 답변I raided like crazy in D1, as did the rest of my clan. We all played Leviathan a couple times and lost interest in raiding altogether. I recently came back and started farming SOTP because there was enough stuff in there I wanted to justify the effort. I've actually started Sherpa-ing SOTP runs because I actually enjoy that raid, and I keep hearing the same story from people over and over again... D2 raids aren't fun. They're too mechanic intensive. Simple as that. Mechanic intensive content isn't fun to learn. It's not fun to teach. And once you get the mechanics down, it's just a tedious chore standing between you and your weekly 5% shot at the raid exotic. This just compounds the other issue of the "toxic" LFG community... But frankly I don't blame people for having high requirements when grouping up with strangers with raids like these.

3 답변Lack of incentive for me. Raids should be the only path to max light, have elemental primaries in the loot pool and good loot in general.
